  1. There won't be any updates for X12 now X13 has been released ...... X13 maybe in you Locker though if your SSA was/is Valid
  2. This is the Help article for Home Designer Users which may help explain what Glen say a bit more for you https://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00358/automatically-building-a-one-and-a-half-story-roof.html Home Designer Forum : https://hometalk.chiefarchitect.com/
  3. It sounds like you are using Home Designer Arch. 2021 not Chief Architect Premier , so it would be best to ask questions over on the HomeTalk Forums (Blue Theme) as the libraries are Different in the Home Designer Series of Products. https://hometalk.chiefarchitect.com/
  4. You cannot have defaults for the 2nd Floor pre-setup, ( disregarding the SAM Method) but are given the chance to change and set them up in the DBX when you create the second floor , if you just click OK ? Chief copies the Defaults from the Floor below.... M.
  5. Have you perhaps toggled Perspective Crop Mode On? is it hotkey assigned maybe? it is no longer on the Toolbars by default but can be placed there manually.
  6. No..... same issue as above when I tried it OSB will go flush with -7/16 but Sill plate remains in line with outside edge of foundation wall. Maybe I missed something though? * If you make the sill plate wider by 7/16 ( 7 13/16) , in Cross Section you can click on the end of it and pull the edge back in though to 7 1/4".
  7. That would buy you a Nice high End PC and give you everything you need, but you'd have to comeback to the "Darkside" It really depends if you "need" the new RTRT Views in X13 (for PCs only) or you are fine with a X12 like experience, and can wait for a year (or two?) till Chief finishes the Metal API for the new Astral Lighting Engine, so macs can use the new Camera Views. There was some new Mac News about upcoming Releases earlier today but not to much on MAC GPUs except to say the M1X maybe as fast as a GTX1650 in the new MacBook Pros. M.

    x13 slow!

PBR can cause the GPU to continue to run if Live Samples are not capped , I don't think TI has that Issue , of course if you are rotating the view etc it will need to be updated. does Vector View have the same issue? People would likely need your plan to test with I doubt the update will help it is pretty small by the look of it and mainly for mac users.

    x13 slow!

you aren't accidently using PBR instead of a STD or Vector View are you? there was a small update to X13 today you could try too... M.
  10. I agree of course, and I guess do that without thinking, but I would just use a Cross Box in CS if I needed to show a wider sill plate since it is about the only time you will see a Sill Plate. M.
  11. I believe you are right , and I think I used to just use a CAD Box over the Sheathing layer in C/S's back when we could have 2x4 ext. walls, same as I extend the Auto-Detail box for the Siding down 1 1/2" as well since Chief can't do it auto. M.
  12. Good catch Steve , I never noticed the Wall above was 2x4 as we have to use 2x6 locally. I would call this a bug myself the mudsill should always be flush to the outside of the foundation wall, no matter it's width. I can see now why Adam doesn't want to have to rebuild his Walls for a new Template ....that is a lot of walls...... but with the Changes to Framing in X13 they will need to be updated so the Main Layer is set as a Framing Layer, as you showed. M.
  13. Thanks for the Update............ chief-architect-x13-update-notes_2.1.3.pdf
  14. Did you rebuild the foundation? Here is a X13 test plan with the right side using the FDN to OSB layer and the Left Side using the -7/16 method. OSB Flush to FDN.plan
  15. sounds like you tried changing it in the Roof Build defaults? and should of used Edit All Roof Planes ( as the Roof planes already exist in the plan) If you change the Soffit material to T&G in the Roof build DBX in your template plan used for all new projects it will be T&G on every job.
  16. You may have to show the angle you are talking about, most of my examples were to help Mark's situation, but I thought most were less than 180°? .............inside corners are definitely more finicky but are do-able....
  17. Not that I am aware of but you can add a Custom Icon to the toolbars with the Place Library Object Tool and assign the double headed arrow to it... more info here : https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00811/customizing-toolbars.html
  18. It is that the Room has a Height reference , not that it has Room Definition that causes the wrap to work as I showed above.... The two stairs are not identical so they won't wrap till they are, I usually copy the 1st one I draw to make sure they are.... There is something else up in this plan though.....
  19. the -7/16 in your OP works for me in a X13 OOB Template Plan , so I am not sure what is up with your current Template... test it for yourself perhaps.... *** I should of mentioned that like Ryan below that method works for me too...
  20. Ok now I get what you were saying earlier..... And Yes, you need to be less than 6" from the (inner) corner of the Walls you want to wrap around with both sets of Stairs.... There are other issues in Mark's (Client's) Plan , the two staircases are not identical, ie Riser and tread sizes etc , but I think something else is up as "The Build" here is really strange, ie: 30" high Level 1 CLG Hgt, and no Foundation etc. M.
  21. Open a single headed arrow's DBX and click the box for Arrows on both ends... you can also turn a CAD line into a double headed arrow
  22. You may not like to hear this but personally I have found some issues with using old Templates/plans in X13, (eg dimensioning) so have bitten the Bullet and am rebuilding both mine and my Clients Templates off the Chief x13 Residential Template supplied (this is and has always been Chief's suggested course of action for each new version , there is a bit more info in the Migration Guide in your digital Locker).
  23. Can you explain that some more please , if the stairs are identical , and they need to be to wrap (afaik) then what is the difference as I didn't have any difficulty doing this, so am curious. M.
  24. You do have to give Chief a REAL WORLD CONDITION or it won't work ie: there has to be elevation between the Rooms or Levels / Areas 2 walls --- No 4 walls and a Room - No But open the Room DBX and make it a raised area (35" here) and Boom auto wrap..... if stair edge is < 6" from corner seems to work the same at inside Corners and is easier to do drawing the stairs down ( hold ALT ) from the raised area , similar to if it was a Deck. No Room Def , so no Elevation/RWD = no wrap Room Def = RWD/Elev. = Wrap On but Winders OFF A 2nd Staircase fixes the Winder though it appears the Skirt Trim does not work properly , similar to Landings ( why do landings not have the Skirt ! ) The Plan to play with / Check.............. Stair Wrapping Test.plan Mick.
  25. apparently not........ I'm definitely missing something as I tried to duplicate the OP's "Room" and drawing and it seems to work okay. M.
