  1. Chief has Slatted (Ladder type) Shelves now in the Specialty Storage Bonus library , under Core>Cabinets Doors,Drawers and Panels > Speciality storage, I just discovered looking for mine. Here is mine placed into a Plan...... Plan file : Slatted Shelf Plan.plan
  2. Should be able to just place a Shelf off the Cabinet menu and then set it's height and material for that cabinet. it will happily intersect the main cabinet without effecting it. Have not watched Eric's videos but the Slat was made from a Polyline Solid and then multicopied and rotated as needed to make the slatted shelf. them me see if I still have the Plan... * looks like Mark just beat me to it.... slightly different style (ladder) Mick
  3. You can make the Slatted Shelf and save it as a Symbol , in this situation I think you'll need to place it manually though as I did with both of these. Mick.
  4. There are several on the Forums for example @Joe_Carrick @Alaskan_Son @GerryT
  5. Some Councils here were/are shifting to 11x17 as well as it is easy for them to scan paper plans themselves for digital storage , but many have also now gone totally digital due to Covid and all submissions are now on PDF only. Yes as mentioned , there is no automated method currently but add a Suggestion on the suggestion Forum ( again) as I am sure many will add there thought there too. Mick.
  6. Most City Councils in Nth America require drawing on ARCH D at 1/4" scale ( 24x36 or 600x900, approx I think) I thought A3 was about 1/2 that or ARCH B ( 12x18) size but not really up on the ANSI OR A sizes. That PDF is on what is called Tabloid here (11x17) unless you reprinted it? Many use a CAD Detail Plan for Typical Details and Send to Layout from there but as mentioned there is no automated system at this point to refer other pages , but it maybe possible to set up typical details in the Layout Template itself so you don't need to send every time but I am not sure that helps much. Mick.
  7. The Card appears to support Shader Model 6 , which is a requirement , so you should make sure you have the latest AMD Drivers as a Fix was added by AMD for Desktop Computers with this issue. https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/radeon-rx-580.c2938 Drivers https://www.techpowerup.com/download/amd-radeon-graphics-drivers/ redoing your Sig. with HDWR eg mac /windows desktop, laptop etc will help further in this case too...... https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/18908-signature-here-at-chief-talk/?tab=comments#comment-155662
  8. Just FYI the # in the Label above , is what causes Chief to automatically number pages sequentially , do not omit it. above it looks like CS is numbering A-200,201,202,203 etc.
  9. Most laptops don't have replaceable GPUs , they are Chips soldered to the Motherboard. I would consider looking at a laptop with a 3070/3070ti Joe , laptops GPU are generally much lower powered than their Desktop counterparts, eg in the 60-80% performance range. M.
  10. You should post over on HomeTalk as the Home Designer Series other than Pro do not have the full Manual Roof Controls, and most here on the Chief Forum do not have to deal with that, so you'll likely get better Home. D. ARCH. answers. https://hometalk.chiefarchitect.com/
  11. I was looking at D5 too, but unfortunately Chief decided not to work with D5, so they were unable to make a Plugin for CA, like they have for other 3D Programs. M.
  12. And drawing it Full Size? ie 1:1 It is normally only scaled once sent to Layout......
  13. Ok nice..... perhaps a Note could be added to the DBX Panel to make that more obvious?. thanks, M.
  14. After you previous post about that , I no longer put Chief in Program Settings at all and just set my 3080 as the OpenGL Global Settings instead. I have been playing with the Aniso Filtering under Global and the Anti-aliasing as well , no Crashes , but not sure I see any real difference in CA either. I am currently running the latest DCH ( 472.12) Studio Drivers instead of the Game Ready Drivers. https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/180559/en-us Mick.
  15. I tried Bullzip as well since it is still installed and it's PDF is 2.5mb vs 6.6mb from Chief PDF vs 2.2mb from TurboPDF4 ( actually Foxit 9.7 apparently) , so I think Chief needs to make a deal with Foxit ( like TurboCAD has) M.
  16. He did use Chief's PDF Writer according to his post above.....( #6 ) though I assume not much in the File looking at the PDF Size. I just Printed a 8 page Color HOA Color Swatch PDF for a Client and Chief's PDF Driver made the File 6.6mb, so as a test, 2nd time, I Printed it using TurboPDF4 (Foxit 9.7) and the File was 2.2mb....... 1/3rd the size.... by Eye I can't tell what the difference is...... M.
  17. This, appears to be correct guess what color I made all the Text in that file..... * the second part is correct as well Please be aware that I think it only creates this temporary document once so if you were to do something to change your default template that it won't update until you restart the program.
  18. How would you know? I am guessing Dermot has a way of knowing ( works for CA ) but it is not that the Cracked Version is not backward compatible , Chief has NEVER been backward compatible AFAIAA , and I've been using CA Products for 12+ years now. M.
  19. So they aren't in your CAD Block Detail Set Layerset? Sounds like some of the unblocked items are not using the Layer for color or linestyle ( see checkboxes ) Mick.
  20. Can't speak for Others , but I did Notice the TLBD Window name , so then tested the Edit CAD Block Tool in a CAD Detail and IN Plan and it seems to use a hardcoded set of "Selected defaults" for that CAD View, ( not sure why it doesn't use the CAD Detail Anno though) which seems to only be editable AFTER the View is created. M.
  21. You can edit the Layer via Layerset Management It seems no matter where or in what SVP you are in, the Edit CAD Block Tool calls up it's own CAD Detail (SP)View , with Plan Default Set, Plan Dims and CAD Block Detail Set Layerset initially. If you Open the CAD Detail Specs, with the Edit View Tool you can access the Selected Defaults for that View..... At least at this point I have not found a place to change the Defaults for the CAD Detail Specification ....Dermot?
  22. 1st thought......Layerset Defaults perhaps? it's one of the Options here : * I think I remember changing it a while back?
  23. Ohhhhhhh Are you really still on X7 ? ....I didn't notice that earlier , it will only show if you use the Check box to show ALL versions as I mentioned above.... X7 was the 1st version to allow online license switches I believe , at least in my Digital Locker I have a Make Available button for it. Mick.
  24. Eric maybe right , as you should see each version of Chief you own listed including any you upgraded if you check the show Upgraded Prod. Keys. check-box. There should also be a Make Available Button so you can switch between computers eg a desktop and laptop ( or old and new computer ) click it to make available to another computer. Once you de-activate on old computer ( above) , open Chief on the new computer and it should ask to activate if needed ... put in your Code/Key and that should be it, ie Chief should open as normal on the new computer....
