  1. I had a Surface Pro, it was ok for on-site field work, etc. but with the small screen, a secondary monitor is a necessity. It also didn't handle larger models very well.
  2. why would they only be available for a limited time?
  3. You'll probably also want to change the Height so that the fascia/gutters line up
  4. Will you be recording this and placing on youtube?
  5. Theres a 3d lettering catalog on Chiefs website, That might be a solution.
  6. Sorry, try this. Lewis_06_c.plan
  7. I have had this happen a couple of times previously and never figure out how to fix this, any ideas? Plan attached and thanks in advance. Lewis 06 c.plan
  8. I only do titleblock text, plan and elevation labels (i.e. First Floor Plan) and my cover page notes in Layout. The elevation notes are in CA along with my floor plan notes etc.
  9. It might be easier to build that in Sketchup, then import it into CA
  10. Michael, Is the audio missing on this?
  11. Perfect, thank you very much.
  12. It looks like the wall framing (maybe joists as well) start their layout from the front of a structure, is there a way to have the O.C. spacing start from the rear?
  13. you might post the plan to see if other people are experiencing the same issue. It almost looks to me like its a tree shadow displaying on your model?
  14. I think its wise to have multiple backups, I guess it depends on how important it is to you. You can get a Dropbox account for free, (or very cheap). I am relying more and more on their service.
  15. looks like some really nice features, stairs, polyline solids, trey ceiling tool, style pallettes, and the often requested roof plate definition feature
  16. CAD - Points - Delete Temp Points
  17. I'm no expert, but I took a look at your plan, and see several little issues that are probably frustrating you. It looked like the roof was the main culprit for your dormer wall, so I adjusted that, you may also notice that the other dormer has different size boxed eaves, so you may want to revisit that as well. Hope that helps. Cape_Modifications_Rp.plan
  18. Would probably be a good idea to post the plan file.
  19. In Georgia, you don't need a license to do residential. And you don't need a license to purchase E & O insurance. I don't know how premiums are calculated, but I would imagine that they factor in the type of work (errors and omissions for only residential is probably less than that for commercial), as well as whether or not you are Licensed in your area.
  20. Not sure why its doing it, but if you add a room divider to make the out door are a "room" then uncheck "roof above" and uncheck "ceiling above" (in the dbx), it goes away.
