  1. Don't wait. Download it and go. I just did a web search for windows 10 and what to do and there was a link. X7 is up and running. Some fudging to get my second monitor to be recognized but that was all (so far).
  2. This is how it opened for me. The only thing that did not come through was your backdrop image. I am not sure if there is some way that the backdrop is creating the dark image.
  3. If you double your RAM and get the 980 card are you still under your max. price? I have an SSD but I really don't know if I am noticing the performance boost it gives me.
  4. check your ambience? Also, do you have a sun in the scene?
  5. This is really easy to do within CA. Just make a rectangular prism the shape measuring the wide area at the base. Now go to an elevation view and draw another rectangular prism to use as a cutting block. Follow the bouncing pics. 1. Make your shape and size 2. Make your cutting shape in an elevation view 3. Mirror your shape 4. Make your shapes into solids for the subtraction process. 5. Cut with the solid subtraction tool 6. Rinse, repeat.
  6. Post your plan file. Without your plan file it is mostly wild guesses. Also, you complete specs on your computer may reveal something.
  7. Your triangle size is too big. This gets the fences to work but I don't know if you can navigate the file still.
  8. Check out the cost of getting prints fed ex'd back to you from this place: https://planexpress.net/Default.aspx?tabid=7810&returnurl=%2fdefault.aspx
  9. This forum is for Chief Architect Premier. There are a few on this forum who use the product you are using but not too many. The Home Talk forum will serve you better. Unless you would prefer snarky answers then this would be your Huckleberry.
  10. I live in a place where CYA (cover your a$$) is very important. What I would do at this point is to include an A and B scheme. A being what she asks for and B is an alternative design. Email these each time and create a paper trail.
  11. Some days I feel like I don't bill for my drafting service either.
  12. We are protected by our rejections.
  13. How big are your arrows? They look small enough but that may be the cause. If the arrows are larger than the space measured there can be no dimension. Maybe, since you have your dimension text in the dimension line it will not allow it even with the arrows less than the space contained?
  14. I have turned down as much work as I have taken on in the last year. Everyone in my local area is buried and contractors are telling people they can't touch new work for 6 months.
  15. Did you try clicking on that triangular interior wall with the Wall Material tool? Just guessing at an easier solution than PS.
  16. Scott, Fast Web is free with an account. Yes, you need a password so therefore you need to golf with someone who works at First American Title. Lose to them badly and sing their praises. Maybe even buy lunch. Alright already, I will send Christine an email and see what I can do.
  17. Once you set the default for the wall material you only need to click once on each wall in a 3d view. The other item that would need tweaking is the baseboard or crown. I did not try adjusting the thickness of the base to get it to show.
  18. What kind of help do you need? What do you have so far and what are you trying to get?
  19. We are lucky in Monterey County. This is free for us through the county website.
  20. I am not sure if this is too much work but see the attached plan for one idea. Check the settings on the interior wall. The drywall surface is a material region. jamber.zip
  21. I use FastWeb. Do you know anyone that works at First American Title? https://fwprodweb1.firstam.com/fastweb/fwlogin.asp
  22. I would consider taking the old file and convert to CAD and then import the cad into a fresh file and use it to trace the plan.
  23. Or he wants flying monkeys with cherubs pouring wine with Rubenesque ladies dancing to flute music wearing nothing but a smile (and who doesn't). Hard to know without a picture. Yours is probably more correct than mine. I had been calling these (the one I posted) items corbels for the longest time but was recently corrected and now I am calling them knee braces.
