Not that you asked but? 1. the laundry as you show it will be very difficult to use. The appliance doors opening will restrict your ability to be in the space if the doors can even open fully. 2. Why does the one bedroom have 2 doors? CCF12192015.pdf

Need A Recommendation For A Construction Book
Gawdzira replied to 447Debbie's topic in Seeking Services
D.K. Chings books are the perfect place to start. The design books are excellent also. -
Yes to a window. I really try to avoid this situation and not place showers/tubs on the outside wall but sometimes you just have to. What I suggest is to flip the toilet and vanity location. I prefer to have the vanity closer to the entry and this will move the vanity cabinet away from the moisture of the shower.

If you have to crash that stair in at that angle use a landing which you can shape for the last tread.

I do what you do. As long as the surveyor has well named layers I can reorganize it to my own liking as needed.

Reboot your computer and call me in the morning. Don't actually call me I am just on my first cup of coffee.

Looking for Orange County,CA Engineer to Collaborate on Jobs
Gawdzira replied to StudConstruction's topic in Seeking Services
One of the engineers I use on the Monterey peninsula uses CA but I find that minimally helpful. Most engineers are just using the plan and section views. I can export dwg for that easily enough.- 7 replies

It varies so much based on your printer/plotter. I have drawings set up so they print well on my HP110 but if I send a job to the UPS store they are too light. Trial and error. One thing I try to do is use the stock colors that are clickable in CA. I used to make custom colors but that is a waste of time and I have heard that CA performs best with their stock colors.

Exporting Floor Plan as Picture in High Quality

The answer is above in the thread. Print to PDF. Do not export the picture. -
I think you are clicking in the wrong place.

Current Printer For Chief? What Are You Using?
Gawdzira replied to HumbleChief's topic in General Q & A
Grayscale is the culprit. Color is a lot faster. I will have to start printing to pdf in grayscale so I don't burn up too much color ink. -

Even on the fast setting I am still printing at around 3:30 min. -

I just printed this for a test file. 6.5 mins on my 110p. Set to print grayscale with black ink only on the normal print setting. Who do I have to sleep with to find out how to get that to print in 2 mins? Stallings revised section.pdf -

Jonathan, what is the speed like on the T120? The HP110 is super slow, sometimes over 5 minutes per page on standard print settings. Not much faster on draft/fast setting. -

@Jon. The specs on that printer (Assuming the 24" model) read that it will output a D sized sheet with line drawings at 35 seconds. Are you seeing speeds like that? -

I still have a working HP110 that I use primarily for all 24x36 prints. I ditched the all in ones from HP for a Brother MFC J6920dw that is great for my 11x17. Two paper trays so I can load one with 11x17 and one with 8.5x11. Much better on ink than the HP machines. Very interested in upgrading my large format too since I do a lot of printing (6 sets yesterday) and the 110 is really slow. -
I have a main monitor that is a 30" Dell. Money well spent. The second monitor is a cheap 27". I have not used 3 monitors but some people like it. Since I can't do three things at once (one at once is often a stretch) I suspect the 3rd monitor would just distract me. I have the main window of CA on the main monitor and the library and project browser remote. A budget of 2-3k for the cpu memory and graphics card is respectable. This all depends on your back up storage system and if you choose a really large SSD drive for loading programs. Get at least 256 SSD if you get one or else it will fill too fast.

Generally saving to a PDF is the most universal way to share images.

Line showing through exterior in elevation view.
Gawdzira replied to HaywardVT's topic in General Q & A
Don't ask me why but I moved the wall upstairs with the extraneous line and then moved it back. The line went away. It is possible the wall was slightly offset. -
Outstanding. I have never noticed the sub texts before. Big dope slap to the forehead.
-
It seems like even though I have a 50/50 guess when placing trailing text in dimension string I am wrong 100% of the time. What supplies the logic in which is the 1and2 string? It is not a left to right based on the text.

Here is the basic test for whether SSA is worth it: 1. Are you a professional? 2. Are you a hobbyist that is only doing one house and abandoning the software use after that? If you answer yes to 1 then get the SSA. If you are not making enough money to support the SSA you need a business coach.
