  1. 1. There are some issues with Live Elevations sent to Layout. I will be sending in a new but report this weekend for a plan that I will post soon to see if others get the same result when printing to PDF. 2.Also, the line weights of Live Elevations sent to Layout that use Watercolor with Line Overlay do not hold the line weights. 3.There is a bug with dimensions in a camera view section when headers are present. So far, none of the negatives come close to out weighing the benefits. Great version update.
  2. I own what I draw. My contract is clear on that and I will not work without a contract.
  3. From the elevation the curved shape appears to be a porch of sorts. If that is the case and there is depth to the space beyond those colums I would probably make that curve with a doorway and then shape the ceiling or use a fake ceiling out of a molding or polyline solid shape. The columns would obscure the door casing on the sides. There would be some cad work to get the plan view to appear correctly but that would be the case anyways since those columns are actually pilasters (probably).
  4. This is what I love about the Active Layer Display Options thingy ma bob. I always have that tool open and set to ----> This will pop the selected objects layer to the front of my list and then I can quickly lock that puppy out so I don't keep making the same mistake and expecting different results (which happens to be the clearest definition for insanity).
  5. Also the toilet width does not meet code. You need 30" clear to finished surfaces.

I have noticed this too. I think the camera is going to a blank area of the plan. Try zooming out or show extents of building after you get the blank page view.
  8. Whole house energy calculations. Runs through a state agency for approval before getting approved by the local jurisdiction.
  9. I did not have a problem with getting those dimensions on your plan with End to End. The initial snap of the dimension line goes to the edge and then I need to adjust the dimension to the center. Small hassle to move them but not very time consuming. Make sure this snap is turned on.
  10. I don't want to be a tool but to reiterate what Joey "alluded to", a reflected ceiling plan is done by drafting. We get a nice guide to start us off and then we draw a bunch of lines and circles and stuff until the drawing begins to not suck and tell the story. Happy Friday.

  12. David, you would be wise to get Terry Munson's book http://www.amazon.com/Residential-Design-Using-Chief-Architect/dp/0692498699 and watch this video series: https://video.chiefa...ch=Breckenridge Good basic training on how to get rolling with this software
  13. Dude, we are in California. A simple bath remodel does equate to a simple set of drawings in order to get a permit. I got your message and will try and call tomorrow. For most jurisdictions in Monterey County I have a first page that is just project information, a vicinity map, scope of work, index, contact information, and code notes. Now I have one page fully dedicated to BMP's (required) and Green Building mandatory minimums (required). Monterey county is requiring a page of notes and a site plan dedicated to construction management (where is the material lay down, job site toilet, trash dumpster, truck parking....).
  14. Next you will need to learn how to post the plan. In there your answer lies.
  15. If I was sending Vector views that would be true but I am sending WaterColor views. My section view layerset has Walls, Normal at 55.
  16. Thanks Joey, your suggestion did alter my grade line but the edge lines of the elevations are unchanged. LEH Viz DD v2 FULL SIZE COLOR TEST wc lines ca pdf save.pdf
  17. If anyone is bored and wants to experiment.... I am doing a test of the live elevations and line weights. See the attached pdf comparison to a screen shot. What I am trying to do is punch up the elevation lines on color elevations without cad lines. The elevations are set to watercolor and I removed the pattern lines from the shingles so it does not overwhelm the view. The problem is that when printed to pdf with either the CA save as pdf or a 3rd party pdf driver I am not getting any line weight variation. 18. I sometimes need to draw a cad line that is long enough to be in a clear area. This seems to help the program understand what object I am intending to reflect about.
  19. Roofs build on top of walls. Build some walls then build the roof.
  20. Strange but I can get point to point dimensions to work but none others.
  21. This plan is in V X8 public beta. I am trying to dimension in a section view. I am getting an error that won't let me proceed. Has anyone else seen this type of behavior? This is a plan that was probably started in X6 so it has come forward a few versions. I tried in both a new camera and some of the saved cameras.
