  1. I am happy my SSA does not come due in January.
  2. In Prospective View the 2 story new construction is not showing floor jsts enclosed etc Your upstairs walls are called out to be foundation walls. Change that and the spandrel area is fixed Stair landing about 18" in not showing the wood floor to living area.Make a decision on whether you want the floor to join the stairs or the stairs to meet the floor. Move one of them. small windows in Bathrooms are showing a horz. divided light and I cannot make it one light or verticle.I don't understand the problem. Select the window, open the dbx, change the window.
  3. I am not sure what is going on with your plan. Did you bring this forward from X2? There is something wonky with the room definitions and I am not sure how to fix it. Even when I paste your walls into a working plan file I am getting your problem. To start with, I would grab a template file from your X7 directory and start with that as your base. If this is what you already did than try opening my file and see if it works. You will still need to clean some stuff but it is s starting place. Be sure to look at the annotation sets as this is the big change from X2 that should make your life a lot easier. X7 Plan 2a.zip
  4. It looks like Micheal needs an afternoon coffee. Too slow.
  5. First the Hoverboards and now this....
  6. CA employees may be able to answer your question about X8 but anyone on the Beta team can not due to the NDA (non disclosure agreement).
  7. After building the automatic roof (guessing that is what you are doing) build the roof planes manually that you are wanting.
  8. Jere, related to this, are you familiar with the new flat Velux solar tube? Very nice. The same workings but a flat glass exterior. I recently installed one at my house. It does cost a bit more but the aesthetic boost might be worth it to the client.
  9. Dale, are you in the Monterey area? I could walk you through the process in about 5 minutes and it will save you a ton of headaches. Call me at 831-747-4718. I am in Carmel.
  10. Dale, as Jonathan states, your have a process problem, not a printing problem. Are you using Layout?
  11. Post your plan. You will need to save and close the file in CA before uploading. Could be several things. Easy fix is to build an attic wall. Draw a wall above that wall and hit the check box for Attic Wall. Do you want to the brick to continue. Do you want a flat ceiling in that little shed room? If no, then uncheck "Ceiling" for that room and make those walls balloon.
  12. Here is a shot of the export settings. I suspect that was my plan view layerset that was visible at the time.
  13. Try this dwg export and see if you get the same results GLK ADD V6 first floor again.zip
  14. Terry, if you are open to a full critique of the floor plan and design let me (or us) know. I would be happy to discuss it with you since it appears you are at a pretty early stage of the project.
  15. How many lights are turned on? Since we are just guessing, I am guessing a lot of lights.
  16. Not that you asked but? 1. the laundry as you show it will be very difficult to use. The appliance doors opening will restrict your ability to be in the space if the doors can even open fully. 2. Why does the one bedroom have 2 doors? CCF12192015.pdf
  17. D.K. Chings books are the perfect place to start. The design books are excellent also.
  18. Yes to a window. I really try to avoid this situation and not place showers/tubs on the outside wall but sometimes you just have to. What I suggest is to flip the toilet and vanity location. I prefer to have the vanity closer to the entry and this will move the vanity cabinet away from the moisture of the shower.
  19. If you have to crash that stair in at that angle use a landing which you can shape for the last tread.
  20. View ---> Active Layer Display Options
  21. I do what you do. As long as the surveyor has well named layers I can reorganize it to my own liking as needed.
  22. Reboot your computer and call me in the morning. Don't actually call me I am just on my first cup of coffee.
  23. One of the engineers I use on the Monterey peninsula uses CA but I find that minimally helpful. Most engineers are just using the plan and section views. I can export dwg for that easily enough.
