  1. I came across this when I first upgraded. There is a setting somewhere that will change that but I cannot remember where it was. Others also complained. Hopefully someone with a better memory than mine will chime in.
  2. That certainly shows the benefit of environmental light!
  3. here is the plan ray traces with tone mapping turned off in image properties and some adjustments made to contrast and brightness. THe 2nd picture is with a couple of adjustments via Microsoft Office picture manager.
  4. Kirk - would be interested in the process(video?) in Gimp. I do not have photoshop and just downloaded Gimp.
  5. Alan - as a preventive measure before updating libraries you can create a plan materials library for any plan via the 3D, materials, plan materials menu. I have only experiences the loss once and if I remember correctly it was for a tile material. I managed to get it back thanks to another forum member who had the older library.
  6. Alan - . One caution. It will install the latest catalogue from the manufacturers. So if you have plans that have an older item no longer available it will be lost.
  7. Graham - I just remembered that I also did a tiny tweak to the mid-range settings. I find this very helpful on certain shots where I don't want the whole picture adjusted across the board. I am not proficient at these post production programs so just look for some quick, easy and simple built in tools.
  8. Simple straight for ward CA RT on first. 2nd is one click auto adjust in Microsoft Office picture manager. It gives just the right amount of contrast, most of the time. Usually I would spend more time on the materials for the cabinets and stainless steel etc but just wanted to do a quickie.
  9. Wow. I'm impressed with your efforts. My solution is to just tell CA to FIX IT! Thanks for the explanation.
  10. I run into this all the time. Started with X9 I think. Not sure what the problem is. In my case It will show siding but when I change the material in the dbx it doesn't change the pllan wall. So I bring out the spray can. I think I posted on this in the past.
  11. Graham - what I don't like about your RT's is that the wall cabinets are much darker compared to the Chief example. My .02.
  12. looks like the model is corrupt or made wrong. Where did you get it? Was there a correct image as part of it?
  13. Either is fine in my eyes. Free is nice but nothing wrong with charging for some. I have uploaded some symbols over the years because I have also downloaded ones others have made.
  14. Christina, I assume you are getting good quality 360 RT panos. What is your secret? Many have not been happy with the results.
  15. make one baluster and use with railing. Will also need to make the bottom brackets or find some suitable;
  16. You are welcome. Done with cabinets.
  17. Hi Scott - I have a client in Pennsylvania who is having trouble with her camera view on a MAC.  She is getting all or partial black on the glass for patio doors, internal views only. Exterior views are OK.  her MAC is 2012 with ATI Radeon video card.  Here system says the card is/was updated via the last system update.  I know squat about MAC's.  Is she SOL or do you know of an option for her?

    TIA,

    Dennis Gavin

OK here is the file.  Not a complete set just helping with 3D on some stuff.  Look at glass on patio doors in the family room, interior.  Thanks!

Dennis,   it all looks well to me,  I think it is her computer,  she might want to call tech to see if they can help  .

I find it hard to believe that the MAC cannot handle to render of  glass.
