  1. I think the less competent the plan checker the more they want. Thankfully the government doesn't have many incompetent employees.......yeah right ;o)
  2. Yes - we may need the materials for "as is" drawings.
  3. Yeah, could not figure out why that happened. Oh, Chief, please fix.
  4. OK, got it. Thought it would be under the name of the library. How come not? Not exported as a folder? BTW, Thanks!
  5. Imported them but can't find them. ANy hints?
  6. must have rusted away already.......'o)
  7. Looking good Rich! Might have a hard time finding a job to use them on though.....;o)
  8. A simple way is to use a glass door and just resize the rails and stiles as needed. Works if you only need a single pain.
  9. David - being on the east coast I am just getting to this. Michael solved several of your problems. I see your roof/ceiling has no material. You will need to assign one and give it a thickness.
  10. If it is small you can upload it as is (after closing Chief). If larger zip it up. You can do a back up of files and textures to a folder and then zip it. Click on the More Reply Options on the bottom right of the post and you can attach a file. MAke sure to upload the file after it is selected and the link is in the browser for the upload. WE can then look at the plan and see if we can find the problem.
  11. Sounds like the latter. Post the plan. If it is too big zip it up first. Chief must be closed when you do this.
  12. If Glen's option does not work then maybe you moved the textures associated with the material?
  13. put the 2D on it's on layer before tracing over it.
  14. Without a 3D file you will need to make it from scratch, find someone to make it for you or find one "close enough" from 3D wharehouse or another source.
  15. The fill I get from a plan section of concrete block is different than what is offered in the CAD details. I cannot find a fill pattern to match the detail. How can I get rid of the X hatch?
  16. OK, getting closer. Added an arched pass through over the mulled unit and it works except for a thin white line. Can't figure out how to get rid of it. I zeroed out the frame/jamb and unchecked has jamb but still get a thin white line.
  17. Attaches is an opening and a pass through set to no frame and blocked to create an opening with a half wall with a jamb and casing all around. So far so good until I select arch for the top. THen I lose the half wall, I can do a no locate railing and drag into place but then I don;t get the fully cased opening without a lot of manual editing. Any suggestions for how to do this without a lot of manual work?
  18. point lights next to vertical surfaces can be a real pain. Even at low settings the effect is too bright. Try moving the light source 16-20" from base. It will soften the effect on the wall area. I also agree that 10-20 passes should be enough with the lighting set correctly. Don't forget about adjustments to the image properties which can be made/tested during the ray trace. mostly intensity and contrast.
