Another way is to add a wall layer (invisible) on the inside of the wall definition and adjust where the platform stops.

I don't know what you are doing, but I can control the patterns in the vector view, or sometimes I have to create a pattern view when there is none. I do it in the edit material DBX. good luck with TS.

I can change the gutters and roof trim in section elevation view. you have to change them in the section camera view DBX

I know Joey uses different line weights to get his look. He use to do some cad lines over the top of his live views years ago, but now I think he uses special layer sets to send to the layout.

With color off to gray, you have to be carful not to make the gray to light or it won't print. This goes for all colors using grayscale, keep them on the darker side of gray. Re-think all your colors if you want grayscale as any light color might not print b/c it's too light. Also check the line weight of your pattern lines, if you didn't , it might be 1 thus to thin.

I get r-38 in vaulted ceilings all the time using larger rafters in that area. You could also add rigid foam on top if you need more.

I would say your video card is a little old, but because it is , try turning off the always update and see. You know you can always update everything in the layout by hitting one button on the layout, its the update all views button.

Are your pattern lines black or gray, and did you adjust the correct color in the pattern section. I like them gray. try and see how it shows when actually printing to paper. It's a lot of hit and miss to get exactly what you want.. It does work believe me. You preferences could be different than what I like.

Change the roof plane height, there is no setting for wall heights. moving the roof down will change the wall automatically

You could also clean your computer and registry, just in case you have too much junk in the trunk. I do it every week. I use Ccleaner.

I have been able to get around doing this using the computer method, by trading off energy requirements for different areas. A little more here , a little less there, I guess it depends on your climate zone.

Do you have your views sent to layout set as "always update", if so try to turn those off in all your views. another thing is do you have the layout and the plan open all the time? Close the layout when working on the plan. Those things might help. Other things might be how big is your plan, or do you have a symbol that is large or corrupt, lots of round railing can also do it , if so just turn them off when working on your plan. Not sure about your video card, I always use NVidia. Good luck, post the plan so I can test it on my machine.

Tried it, not what it's built up to be. Small Grandkids are great, but they turn into teenagers. If we could only skip that section.

I think you are correct, Chief will slow down with big complicated plans with lots of round railing, Lots of cad details or PDF's. But I don't get too many very large jobs.
