  1. I would set the basement level as floor 1 so you still have floor zero as a foundation plan.
  2. I've stuck with Area 51 and Alienware for 15 years, never had any problems keeping up. I also get a new one when needed about every 5 years. Then give the old one to one of the grandkids, they are always asking me to upgrade.
  3. at first sight of the different layout pages, the page numbering use to get messed up, so we put that extra template at the end , solved that problem. ! haven't changed that since. I use A-#,,FOR Architectural set and S-# for structural set. but I also use the actual page numbering.
  4. The only problem is that you can only revise that schedule one page at a time. If you have 35 pages, that could take some wasted time.. Place your revisions very carefully .
  5. Sometimes the little laser hole gets too much junk in it. blow it out. Happens to me .
  6. I always keep everything live. although I do sometimes use plotlines for sections but no shadows on those.
  7. don't know why you are seeing this problem but I'm not seeing that problem, so if I had to guess it could be a video card driver problem ,or some setting is wrong somewhere.
  8. I'm pretty sure you don't need the 5/8" type "x" under anymore.
  9. I have run into the landscape thing, it's usually a homeowners assoc. requirement, but they want it anyway. I tell the h.o. to get a landscape architect, I'm not doing it.
  10. how about good ole Dex-o-tex over conc. base?
  11. just copy the material and change it's name
  12. I still have all my details in the lib. and the most common details are actually in my template layout. Don't have any searching this way and it's easier to delete and move around than searching for a new one. Both have plus's and minus's ..
  13. I print in color and turn the color off just to see how that color looks in grayscale. I always print in color b/c some of my clients have color plotters and they like it but they can also print in grayscale if they want to. It's done at the printing stage not the drawing stage
  14. no just pick a color that works for you or just use a grey color. turn off the color icon to see what it looks like in grayscale after changing to grayscale.
  15. I always print to grayscale and never black and white, you just need to be carful what color you choose. Great for wall fills
  16. Everyone really should join Dave's website. There is always something to learn
  17. Chop is right, we need to see the plan, could be several reasons why.
  18. It's always a good idea to start any new version using the profile plan and layout, might stop any quirky things from showing up.
  19. Post the plan to find out what it is.
  20. in the print-drawing sheet setup DBX is the "advanced lineweight options " set to 100mm ?
  21. I also do a lot of remodels and "premier" is the only program I use., I need the framing and because it's a lot of custom work you need it.
  22. Use layout line scaling when you send it to the layout. there is a checkbox there in the send to layout DBX..
