  1. The reason for me to put the basement on the first floor is so I can have a foundation plan separate from a floor plan especially if you have a finished basement with walls and rooms. Too much clutter for me to put them both on the same plan
  2. I'm a 5 min., at the most guy, Clients love them. The detail is good enough for what I need them to do.
  3. The thing is, I don't see any condition that would put an island wall there in the first place. A room divider wall is just an invisible wall with a zero thickness. Something else might be wrong. An island wall would be standard wall thickness
  4. Not really a workaround, I have walls on every plan I do, that need the display of, to be turned off. Set up a template plan with all your extra layers you need and then its very simple to do.
  5. Section dimensions are still very slow for me but as you know there are no "locate objects" settings for dimensioning the sides or shelves of cabinets. Maybe Chief could add them. When there is no setting to locate those objects it uses the point markers. IMO there is still work needed to be done in this area.
  6. Not sure if that's the case here but some symbols have a very large face count and need to be fixed, send it in to tech support so they can fix it. Sometimes those things just get installed and they need to know about it as they don't read everything here.
  7. Put the room divider or island wall on its own layer and turn off the display of it
  8. I took Scott's magic video pill and now I too live under the bridge, waiting for his next one on YouTube.
  9. Go to the windows DBX/ general, and change the minimum separation to "0"
  10. There are a lot of video's out there, watch as many as you can. Watch and do worked for me. search Youtube, Chieftutor.com, and of course Chief's own videos.
  11. Those tools can do the same thing, the backclipped section using a longer run will be the same as a section /elevation.
  12. I would love to go but, I stopped doing long plane rides a while back, being 6'7 350 lbs., those seats are just too small for me to be comfortable for that long, the only way I fly now is 1st class. If I went to the south pacific, 1st class is not worth it, I might as well take 6 local cruses, sorry buddy, getting old Anyway I try to fly when I can hold it b/c I don't fit in those stupid toilets.
  13. I get that crap all the time, she remembers stuff I did, that I would never do, but she is very convincing. She's like the DA and I break in the cross examination. Penny can also remember things 40 years ago, I'm always just dead meat in these things. Sometimes I can't remember what I had for breakfast. Have a great trip Scott, I know right now your trying to finish projects before you go. When you go places for a week or 2, do your clients ***** at you like mine do. They never want me to vacation.
  14. I know you can get rid of that but I would have to play around with it. Scott is the master of those kinds of things, post the plan.
  15. It works for me also but its real slow and connects at places I don't want it to connect to.
  16. It gets the siding from the upper wall, try using the " lower wall type if split by roof" tool.
  17. Mac editions don't Driver update from NVidia, only Apple does that Hopefully they have an updated driver. They should, as that card has been out for a while now.
  18. Select that Gable end wall and check "Balloon through ceiling". That's the way they would build it.
  19. You need to send it in to tech support, as the Chief guys might not find it here
  20. Larry, tiff's are very large files-- I would never use those
  21. I also haven't seen this but I have a great video card, yours seem a little weak to me.
