Why We Have So Many Questions On These Forums
DRAWZILLA replied to Joe_Carrick's topic in General Q & A
Doug, Are you working on arrows disconnecting from macros, it sure would be nice. I would like to use macro's for stairs and headers but I can't because somewhere along the line they disconnect and I get the dreaded "evaluation error" on the printed plan (embarrassing ). Those pages are expensive to re print. Also happens with annotating a header in the framing plans. If we just didn't need the arrow, it would really be nice. Other than that I can't use them as they are. -
Look in the Archives, you have a copy there
-
you can also control 3 ways using this. Check the defaults
-
Using anno-sets you change the annoset not the layerset. when you want to go from say floor to framing. I never use " use active layer-set"..
-
You set it all up in the anno-set DBX, there you can tell it what layerset you want plus many other things . copy another layerset and re-name
-
Yes but once set up it good to go. I use a lot of layersets but usually its just a copy of another layerset with a few changes.
-
I used to set up different templates for every condition, but later on I found its just too difficult to update them all as you go, so now I just use a very basic template and just change it to what I need. Much simpler for me, when I find something that needs changing, and that happens a lot as you go until its good to go.

That line you circled is suppose to be there, its the interior line of the plasterboard.
-
I just set the north arrow relative to the Drawn plan and just leave it at that. Everything lines up with that. For me, site plan never needs to be north south up and down, it is what it is, in plan view. Front of house is always down. makes it real easy for everyone.

I add floor finishes but they are all a 1/2" so its easy to figure out heights without thinking too much. The problem with some sections is the floor to ceiling manual dimension will pick up the finish, then I have to zoom in and move it. Also if you turn off floor finishes in section view, you also lose the floor sheathing.

larry, it wouldn't matter if I dumped the temp. file or not, same system same plan. They should be the same either way.
-
Joe, I have noticed that some of my walls from X6 added a layer in the main section when I brought them forward from X6. Had to go through a fix them, but only a few of them not all.

Not knowing your computer, Some change it in the Bios and some change it in the video card controller DBX. Yes the Radeon is a much better card -

Make sure you are using the ATI card and not the Intel one. -
Why would anyone want the door at an angle to the floor?

Larry, with your Xeon 6 core it should be faster than mine, we also have the same video card. I still say there is something wrong in River City.

New Video By Chief Architect About Stretch Planes
DRAWZILLA replied to Greg_NY61's topic in General Q & A
Notice they are using a directional pointer symbol from another program, I think, but I would like to have that one as part of chief all the time. -
Group Select Arch Block Vs Cad Block To Model Timber Truss
DRAWZILLA replied to Evolution's topic in General Q & A
Yep still not showing, there was no post/ footing tool back then so you had to create it block it, and create copies, and I always forget to unblock it. -
I did a video like this earlier , it has gotten better since then but still a problem
-
Ok here is a short video showing the difference between X6 and X7 for me. All plans are the same so I don't think it's anything in the plan. http://screencast.com/t/S1TJHBBgh

Hit the save button and its also very slow. Camera views also delete very slow. I also see what Larry has.
-
I got something out of it, the new X7 tool for railing on landings, thanks. Never noticed that
-
You have to zoom in pretty good to see it.

I would probably be dead without her, b/c I know I would eat junk food but she comes down on me so hard, that I'm afraid of her. She can beat me up.
