  1. Yes, what Joe said. You might have to adjust things after though.
  2. Without downloading, looks like an attic wall that just isn't filling in. Just try to drag it to the end. you could also balloon frame the lower wall to fill that in
  3. I always set up the site plan as one of the first things I do, and never move the house, just the property line which is a cad box so very easy to move by changing the dimension's. Same with a new house.
  4. Here is an overview of reference sets http://screencast.com/t/78WcvboE
  5. I save all catalog items to a folder on my desktop along with updates but you can always re-download them anytime you want, as long as your "SSA" is paid up.
  6. To me ,it seems moving the house can cause major problems and just moving the terrain is so much easier if you want live. If someone wants to move that stuff around, use the Plan Footprint.
  7. You mean 24" from corners and 48" o.c.? Try it and see. I think it does but I usually manually place them Sorry, I was thinking kitchens.
  8. The white strip on the outside of the post to beam wall is the exterior finish of the wall you used, just change the wall type to a fence, or move the slab an inch further out by using a p-solid slab and removing the floor in the porch room.
  9. Using a reference set in the site plan is very important to me, b/c I like to show the roofs (all story's) on it. Here we have to show all overhangs on the site plan and how far they are to the property lines for fireproofing the eaves if needed. Also some cities count the overhang as lot coverage.
  10. I know a lot of people were looking for battered walls, Chief can't do that without major workarounds.
  11. Get ready for crazy California codes and brutal plan checks.
  12. I see this sometimes and have to copy my text, refresh the page, and paste back then it works. Using I.E.
  13. I use lots of full 24x36 pdf's in my layouts without any slowdown except printing to pdf might take a little longer. Always put them in your layout and not the plan .
  14. Thanks Greg, I didn't know that. I'm thinking you still have to download from the catalog individually.
  15. I try to keep colors on the dark side, b/c the light ones won't print good in grayscale, they could disappear.
  16. ok, don't listen to me , I though it was a different version.
  17. You can always stop the video along the way, and look at things a little closer.
  18. Only case I know about, would be when you have Island rooms, rooms must connect to an exterior wall. Chief does that automatically for you. You can put those on a different layer and turn off.
  19. Alan Do you have it to use printer memory or computer memory? How much memory is in the printer? If not much memory in your printer, change to use computer memory. Not sure if those settings are still in hp's drivers though. It really helped the speed for me. Plot drivers create large files. Try the pdf first method.
