    yes we need to be able to have ceil joist going one direction and floor joists going the other. that's how I do a 2nd floor over the existing house leaving the existing ceiling joists. Now I have to fake it with no ceil joists at the existing (but leaving the space for them) and add them to the sections as needed, a bit of a pain but doable. anyone say workarounds, I like um.

    Reason I ask is that there was a problem similar to that in early X8 but was fixed. I don't know b/c it doesn't happen to me which leads me to think some setting is wrong somewhere.

    I put all the layers on 1 layer, lock it, then turn on and off as needed so I can trace the walls in Chief. Put them on 1 layer when you import the drawing

    Or you can also just type or copy what you need in a macro, for simple text macro's. I use them a lot. The good thing about text macro's is if you change the macro's text, it changes everywhere you have it in the plan, automatically.

    Can you delete it from "cad block management"

    If it's in your user catalog then you or someone else created it, you can just right click on it, and delete it. It's not something in Chief's catalogs, if it was then you or someone changed it. Tip:, you really should name your blocks so you know what they are.

    There are some new metal downloads @ Chief's website in the bonus section, they look pretty good

    Use it with a layout template and pre send all cameras to the layout weather they show anything at all or not. You move the cameras in place on the plan, and the layout shows automatically. big time saver. set up once and done forever.

    We have never been able to copy cameras, you now have to set up each one separately. total time loser if you ask me. But if you use a template plan with the cameras already saved, then it's not so bad. I never create cameras anymore.
