Sounds like some are thinking this new tool is harder to implement and use than it really is. Think of it as a quicker, easier way of doing what you have already been doing.

One more thing I think would help in productivity should be the ability to link a toolbar setup to certain SPV's. ie. Plot Plan View opens your Terrain Configuration Toolbar, the Electrical SPV opens your MEP Configuration, Kitchen SPV opens the Kitchen and Bath Design Toolbar Configuration. etc.

Can you imagine not having to send a drawing to your layout again... because your layout template is tied to your saved plan views? You work on your 3D model while CA does the tedious work automatically.

An easy way to set up your saved plan views is to open a finished layout from a previous project and go to each view on that layout that was sent from your plan and save it as a new saved plan view. Then, all your settings are what you want. Then import your "new" saved plan views into your new plan, and save it to your plan template.

Have you thought about having a base set needed to get a permit for a set price, then giving your customer the option of requesting additional sheets, ie, interiors, landscaping, etc, for an additional fee?

Not sure if this is what you needed but... Have you tried CAD>Plan Footprint? Plot Plans and Plan Footprints Using the CAD Tools and conventional survey information, you can create an accurate plot plan in plan view or a CAD Detail. See Site Plans Tutorial. A plot plan can be sent to layout and included in working drawings. See Dynamic Views. A plot plan can also be converted into a terrain perimeter, allowing you to add elevation data and accurately position buildings for 3D modeling of home and lot. Plan Footprint Select CAD> Plan Footprint to create a CAD object representing the building footprint in a CAD Detail window. Once the Plan Footprint is created, you can control what information it displays. To create a Plan Footprint 1. Open the plan view that you want to create a Plan Footprint from. 2. Select CAD> Plan Footprint . The program creates a new CAD Detail with the footprint of the current floor. • By default, this new CAD Detail uses the Plan Footprint layer set. You can control what displays in the footprint using the Layer Display Options dialog. See Layer Sets. • You can also control the appearance of a Plan Footprint in its specification dialog. See Plan Footprint Specification Dialog. To insert a plan footprint in a CAD Detail 1. Open the CAD Detail in which you want to insert a Plan Footprint. 2. Select CAD> Plan Footprint . 3. What I did in the past with large print files was break it down into a smaller file size by printing a range of pages. ie. 1-5, 6-10, 11-15, etc.
