  1. There’s a way... but not as quick and straight forward as the above.
  2. Yep! It’s a miracle that the human race has survived.... with all these older homes just slipping off the foundations everyday due to lactating anchor bolts placed into the concrete by mere mortals.
  3. We didn’t have those anchor holders back in the 70’s when I worked for a foundation company... I was thinking about placing the mudsills with the anchor bolts after the top had been troweled... you could stack all the sill plates, layout and drill mass production wise...
  4. Good to know my new system will at least be good to play video games on... wait! I thought CA was a video game.
  5. One is in ft and inches and the other is in inches. A 2-6 door is 30 inches.
  6. I have always thought it would be more efficient for the foundation crew to install the sill plate when they set the anchor bolts... even if the framers had to remove the plate later to roll out the sill sealer. At least the anchor bolts would be set to the proper height and we could actually have anchor bolts within a foot of the end of the plates.
  7. Graham, do you have something to monitor your ram usage? You may be able to boost your pbr performance there. I recall one of the big render guys on here mentioning he has 32gb but wants to bump up to 64gb.
  8. Layout Box Borders and Labels A border will display around each layout box when the “Layout Box Borders” layer is set to display in the Layout Page Display Options dialog. See Layout Page Display Options. Layout boxes can also display labels when the “Layout Box Labels” layer is set to display. See Object Labels. Automatic layout box labels display basic information about the original view in the plan. For example, plan view sent to layout from Floor 1 will have an automatic labelthat says, “1st Floor”. A camera view sent to layout will have a label that states the camera’s name. Layout box labels have their own edit handles and can be customized to include text as well as Object Specific Text Macros. See Text Macros. 9
  9. Maybe if the saved plan views had been called saved layout views, it would be more intuitive for some???
  10. If the same question gets asked every week... maybe the search feature should be enlarged, highlighted or emphasized more???
  11. Very well done presentation, Rene. Thank you for your time... I felt like I was watching an episode of Bob Ross painting.
  12. Allow me to suggest a battery backup with surge protector for your system also. It has saved my butt more than once... https://amzn.to/2Uwk6my
  13. My PDF file size was 2.17MB. I changed the missing font to Arial and no logo... Looks like you need to stretch your text blocks a little on page 7... if you go with Arial.
  14. If you go 6" below the top of foundation wall at the back wall with your slab, and then slope the garage slab 2" down toward the garage door, you should end up with the required clearance between your final grade and the wood framed garage wall.
  15. Go to your windows file explorer and look under most recent...
  16. Thank you Simon!!! I appreciate your expertise in computers. Nice to know I can upgrade, if necessary.
  17. From what I am reading it looks like if you want an HDD for storage, along with an SSD, you need to have SATA. https://www.enterprisestorageforum.com/storage-hardware/nvme-vs-sata-comparison.html
  18. Thanks! I will look into that... Is SATA a dealbreaker, in your opinion? In specs, it says SATA III...
  19. I have narrowed my choice down to this system and I am looking for critiques and/or suggestions prior to placing my order: CyberPowerPC Syber Forti SFG9EX w/ Liquid Cool Gaming PC - Intel Core i9-9900K 3.6GHz, 32GB DDR4, 1TB SSD+3TB HDD, 11GB GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, 6x USB 3.1, HDMI, WiFi, Win 10 Home 64-Bit - SFG9EX, 850W PSU Do you think this will run chief okay for the foreseeable future?
  20. Assigning elevation cameras and plan views by room... ie, kitchen, master bath... so, no matter where you place the kitchen, your views are correct... set up your template and go to work on your 3D model while the computer pastes your views to the layout automatically.
