  1. Thank you Simon!!! I appreciate your expertise in computers. Nice to know I can upgrade, if necessary.
  2. From what I am reading it looks like if you want an HDD for storage, along with an SSD, you need to have SATA. https://www.enterprisestorageforum.com/storage-hardware/nvme-vs-sata-comparison.html
  3. Thanks! I will look into that... Is SATA a dealbreaker, in your opinion? In specs, it says SATA III...
  4. I have narrowed my choice down to this system and I am looking for critiques and/or suggestions prior to placing my order: CyberPowerPC Syber Forti SFG9EX w/ Liquid Cool Gaming PC - Intel Core i9-9900K 3.6GHz, 32GB DDR4, 1TB SSD+3TB HDD, 11GB GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, 6x USB 3.1, HDMI, WiFi, Win 10 Home 64-Bit - SFG9EX, 850W PSU Do you think this will run chief okay for the foreseeable future?
  5. Assigning elevation cameras and plan views by room... ie, kitchen, master bath... so, no matter where you place the kitchen, your views are correct... set up your template and go to work on your 3D model while the computer pastes your views to the layout automatically.
  6. I would say you are missing out on the greatest invention since sliced bread if you’re not using plan views to your full advantage. Next step would be to get saved plan views to recognize individual room labels.
  7. Did you save the second floor as a new plan view?
  8. Would an attic wall work? If not, you can always draw a poly line solid...
  9. I wonder if there’s a market for stairs with multiple stringers by chief users that I could sell stair symbols to using my other cad program?
  10. Have you tried two 45 degree ceiling planes and one 0 degree ceiling plane?
  11. Good work, Michael. Very efficiently done.
  12. I make all my driveways using the road function, sidewalks also. Makes it very easy to add a stamped concrete pattern to the edge by editing the curb.
  13. Try a short length of straight sidewalk on the left, as Eric suggested earlier, and then run your curved sidewalk up to the end of the straight.
  14. I am curious now, aren’t all the responses to the questions here written? How do you read these responses any differently than you would reading the manual?
  15. Good job, Rene! It's always fun to watch professionals at work.

  17. Go to a layout you completed in the past and open each view on the layout and save each one as plan view with desired title. Then you will have all the views saved that you need to create a layout. Do all your work in your working plan view, knowing all of your other saved plan views will be showing up on your layout template.
  18. You might be amazed by what a good heavy equipment operator can do with the terrain.

  20. This whole segment of the industry can be summed up with... FAIL TO PLAN, PLAN TO FAIL! It's part of the job to show prospects the value in following a good plan. A good plan will pay for itself many times over in the end.
  21. Try using terrain regions instead of terrain lines... see if that helps you.
