  1. Delete the Roof baseline Polylines same as Eric said. Open the dbx for the RV room, General panel>Options>Roof Group - change to 1. Auto build roofs. Are you really sure that is the way you want to build that roof? What is going to happen to all the water that runs down the house roof and hits the wall of the RV room? How are you going to get access to that space between the two roofs? I would never build a roof like that, and I advise you not to build it like that - not a good idea at all.
  2. You can force 2D images to "Image Always Faces Camera" in the images dbx.

Zip it up and go to wetransfer.com
  4. Have you tried letting Chief draw your lookouts automatically? You can use a Reduced Gable End Truss (check both End Truss and Reduced Gable) and Chief will build the lookouts. Here in Oz, we would normally use lookouts "on flat" - but sloping with the roof.
  5. That sounds like you are placing a picture or image into your plan. I think DzinEye needs to do a Backup Entire Plan so that we get the textures?
  6. Don't forget that you can also spin a 3D view with Ctrl+Alt+S.
  7. Chad, Use the Walkthrough Path tool - it does external fly-arounds as well as internals.
  8. Having that stupid Reference Grid displaying is one of my pet peeves! I hate the thing but I find it is turned on in just about every Chief plan I look at.
  9. There shouldn't be any problems getting close to or exactly what you want. Why not post a pic of one of your hand drawn plans and someone here can probably tell you.
  10. Using a 120" hight stem wall will not do what you want. I think you will find that once you change the stem wall height back to zero, all your problems will be solved.
  11. My tips are: Don't use Elevation Points - use Elevation Lines/Splines. Use Elevation Regions as much as possible. Don't overlap elevation data. Don't use Retaining Walls - use Terrain Breaks and normal walls placed after. Use Elevation Data instead of the Terrain Modifiers. Don't use Automatic Subfloor Height Above Terrain. Tile a 3D view with the terrain plan as you work so you can see the immediate results of your input.
  12. Why do you have a 120" high stem wall in the new section? I would fix that before doing anything else.
  13. Just for the record in case this comes up again. The problem was caused by having that external wall down the left hand side of the 3 rooms and the garage, marked as a Double Wall - Furred Wall. Changing it to the more normal Frame Through fixes the problem. You should also check the wall at the top between the Covered Patio and kitchen - it is inside out.
  14. If I understand you correctly, you should be able to use roof planes. Can you supply the information about the roof geometry - how are they setout?. How is the soffit a different angle to the roof? What does "back down to the exterior wall" mean?
  15. Preferences>Reset Options Reset Side Windows or Reset Toolbars - you will lose any customisation though
  16. Framing Reference Marker may do what you want.
  17. Don't forget that if you use a dimension line, you can always drag the dimension text to wherever you like and you can change the dimension text size. Th beauty of using a dimension is that if the geometry changes, the dimension will change as well. Not so with a leader.
  18. Use a Point Marker instead of a Place Point.
  19. There is one case I know of when this is not correct. That is when you have an image that you want to resize (rotated or ortho) using the images perimeter (as opposed to click any points within the image). You can resize the image by clicking the Point To Point Resize in one corner of the image. You can then drag the cursor along the image edge to the other corner - the cursor will stick to the image edge, no matter what the angle. Click the second corner and the dbx will open. Although this works, there are probably easier ways to resize the image like using it's dbx.
  20. You will need to post the plan if you want more help.
  21. Where did the Patio room type come from? There is no Patio room type OOB. Did you create a new Patio room type? Room Name and Room Type are 2 completely different things.
  22. Just a heads up. It is easy to unintentionally place objects on other floors than what was intended when working in elevation. When in an elevation/cross section view, the change floor tool works by changing the floor "focus", even though you can't see any change to the cross section view - it doesn't move up or down. ie, say you have a 2 storey house and have an elevation view and the current floor indicator says 1. You can draw an object on what looks like the second floor in elevation, but it will actually reside on floor 1 - the currently active floor.
  23. How did you place these points - I assume manually because auto place electrical doesn't work for external room types. I also assume you used the toolbar electrical drop down points. This will not give you exterior points - you need to select these from the library. The type of wall has nothing to do with the type of electrical point.
  24. No. Invisible walls are ignored when auto placing electrical. Make the invisible walls (room divider walls) visible, place outlets, make walls invisible. Did you click in the second bathroom to place outlets - and they just did not place? It should work. You need to click in each bathroom.
