  1. Keeping in mind that they no longer require an outlet at all which is a BIG deal for post-tension and/or radiant floor remodels
  2. I would say that that video should be reason enough...its the same actions in Chief. Single biggest productivity tool you can buy for our line of work once you get used to it.
  3. @CADustin Requesting a way to rotate image inputs in your builders...otherwise we have to rotate them in a 3rd party which most beginners won't do
  4. It is all upstairs my friend. Meaning I simply remember what my modifiers do across 24 radial menus each with a 4 level stack. There is no 2nd/3rd/4th level in terms of the driver package. You only get one radial menu level, and for that level I apply a single character hotkey n...that way, when I hold the ctrl or shift key for instance, that hotkey now becomes n+ctrl or n+shift for instance. That is also why it is important to have a really well thought out system of approach across not just chief, but any other applications you might use the system for. I use radial menus across 8 programs, the big ones being twinmotion, chrome, windows explorer, photoshop, premiere pro, blender, sketchup. All of which I have a similar mapping for which would follow an APK. It gets pretty complex when you start mapping it all out...I fortunately did a ton of leg work years ago when I was building a midi-based touchpad system for Chief, and the information learned in that process drives much of the success of this current system. Previously the only difficult coding I did for 3dconnexion was to inject images for icons...but now we have that built into the driver package. The only advanced stuff I do now is radial menus that are bound to a key universally, which takes xml editing.
  5. Learned something new, thanks Mike, hadn't ever noticed we could control it in SPV's
  6. No need to open the file on this one, just need an adjustment to your approach. Wall specifications are independent of the capabilities of saved plan views. Instead considering your foundation stem walls at level 0 and build your basement on level 1. You could then use a reference display on level 0 from level 1 for more dynamic control of display
  7. Please shoot any tweaks you are making my way, you never know, the greater group might enjoy your edits as well Thank you for the support, X15 Versions coming soon
  8. Apologies, weird, you look just like him!, didnt know the name though
  9. I know, we met at Chiefs event in Aug, I was with Dan Baumann's crew
  10. Id say make the jump, there are workarounds or methods in X14 but would prefer just doing it in X15. New subscription model will just be pushing us to current version anyway
  11. In X15, under your wall definition, the "EXT" column.
  12. The OP could've worded it better but I understood the end goal. "allow for an environment to be projected onto that inside surface to mimic a fully interchangable backdrop from the view of the window" You described a solution for creating a half dome, yes.
  13. I mean, should I throw some shade and tell you both you missed the mark, haha. These methods wont work, not even with Global Symbol Mapping Turned on. Curious Mike what the step 2 added?(something I don't know maybe? using X15.) The OP is asking for a skydome, and it wont map correctly using solids, should use a molding along a line with global symbol mapping and stretch to fit instead I believe, though I haven't tried it
  14. Can I ask what other software you are speaking of? most of the major third party rendering software's have dedicated skydomes or HDRI effects including Twinmotion, D5, Enscape, Thea, VRay, Maya, Unreal, and more
  15. why are you not simply using a backdrop instead, with all of the added benefits it brings forward?
  16. POST 99 #freesymbolfriday It's been a crazy fun week at Chief Summit and I've been buried in fun discussions. Here is an adjustable speaker made from a cabinet. You can split or remove sections to create a large number of different speakers. Enjoy and discover...try to reverse engineer how I created this..it's simple! Downloaded rabbittdesign.net/symbols or direct download https://www.rabbittdesign.net/s/Rabs-Adjustable-Speaker.calibz Follow this link for the Rabbitt Design FB Feed for additional content: https://www.facebook.com/groups/3195137837435026/permalink/3207137419568401/ CLICK ME TO GO BACK TO THE INDEX!!!
  17. Send this in, I’ve been sending in everything and have been told that they are actively ramping up dev efforts to improve the library for official release. I personally am excited about possibly getting group select and add search attributes
  18. Not trying to upset you Mark, nothing but respect for you as always. I would still argue(because I do that) that you would need to first find your folder you want to search from in X14, and would either need to search and mouse to it or you would need to manually scroll and expand folders to get to it before you could search that particular folder. In X15, just type your search and hit enter, and then type in your folder name, hit down arrow twice and hit enter...no mousing around I think we might get this back in next version Sorry I misunderstood, I thought you meant creating a symbol from the library. Yes +1 on this to add an option to the add to library check mark
  19. I wouldn't bother just yet, the Library is actively being worked on including that issue. but FYI Try searching the library from the dashboard
  20. As Chief is moving toward a cloud based platform, this was a necessary step...also we are talking about two completely different development departments. A single engineer did the Library redesign, and is completely separate from the framing tools dev team. The Library moving toward cloud is very important for future cloud based project management which is already in development. Imagine the future where our CAD details are linked to Layout from the Library..THAT will be the day when this makes a HUGE amount of sense. I think its a big step in the right direction. Not directed at you Steve, just to the general group here, the Library is currently being worked on for public release and will be improved again when we see official release.
  21. this is done by simply clicking the folder you want to search copy paste, but no duplicate..an extra step Simply right click your folder/New and it does this Just addressing the parts that we have
