one of you may not be properly added to the dropbox or have it added to their dropbox or have it approproiately linked to their dropbox account and be set to actively syncing
-
I think I mentioned this before but you should not be both working on the same file at the same time. Instead, you should be making a copy of the containing folder and you will work on the files within that folder and then shut down and let it sync. Then your colleague should be making a copy of that newly synced folder, and work from the files within. My guess is that your colleague or you have the file still open and thus chiefs file locking is happening and so dropbox has a redundency issue and is not syncing because of it

Macro that can evaluate if a layer is "on" or "off".
Renerabbitt replied to GlennShaw's topic in General Q & A
I really think a replace from library approach would work better in this case. One symbol reports included and has a blank cad block and the layer is always turned on and the symbol has no geometry just a big bounding box, then a custom placed library object that you hover over and click and then its placed correctly and reports everything under the sun from the OIP -

Just do this with a symbol and a custom schedule and redraw your symbol's cad block to represent the graphic you need. Not a matter of displaying or not displaying a layer, but rather placing a symbol. Tie it to a Custom Placed Library Object in your toolbar and that'd be lighting fast. -
I have a newer version that does a bit more in my pro plan template but this one should still work great for all intensive purposes. Go into CAD/Text/Text Macro Management then start a new macro, set to evaluate on an object level, name it, then in your window default label, click the macro drop down and find it in your user macros

I would seriously consider waiting just a bit longer for X16 beta as we might get a feature for import and export of CAD details, which would just save a #%^&$ load of tiome

He wants an IFTTT setup where if a text box is toggled to display, an ordered list will populate that this particular text box is set to display -

The OP was talking about a text box and kindve implying a plumbing line diagram or something of the sort such as a CAD block -

Nice work Mark, I mean it. only problem I see with this is that whatever the element it is, it would need to be something that reports to schedule. I think instead maybe they could do this on the layout said using linking features. Need to think about it for a sec -
COME to MEEE my friend. I provide awesome tech support but only through the discord server that is linked through your purchase link for these items. DISCORD LINK Also you can use this name if you ever need to tag me. Yes it can be very problematic if you are backing up to a network with multiple machines as the machines will all by default sync to the same location causing all kinds of issues when two machines are trying to sync at the same time or you are havbing redundancy issues in the sync system. You would need to designate a different location for your chief data on a machine by machine basis. Also my toolbars have a very specific set of instructions for how they install, as well as the material files. I just uploaded an update to this and sent out mass emailers for it, check yorur spam Also just reach out to me, I am here to help. I have scrapers searching for my name every once in a while which is the only reason I caught this on here

would question what your desired end result is, why would this be useful? Maybe there is a different method we could point you to -
Only reason I started learning is because only a few macro users share any info and some of them will be(should be) retiring soon I've got a really complex macro for cabinets that follows formatting for industry standards on modular cabinets. I wont give too much away on it but it is split up into 3 macros, one for each cabinet type. It looks for all kinds of parameters such as num drawers, doors, full height doors, fixtures, conditional depth reporting, opening sizes, and even pricing. Nice to split them up because they get more and more complex over time Also thanks for the mention..feel free to ask macro questions, it helps everyone out and brings some users out that lurk but really know their stuff

Nice work. Might want to turn off leading 0’s in number for matter for your moldings. also be nice to set conditions for designating a sink base and m/w etc.If you want an additional challenge, you could script in splitting your double doors to report their actual size. Macros are fun thanks for sharing
