Michael_Gia
Hey, no matter what I set my basement ceiling height or floor level or stemwall height, my stemwall won't budge? Are we not able to affect floor 0 anymore? What am I missing? Cross section: I was hoping the 4'-6" would change to 24" or something close to that? Stemwall doesn't budge in the cross section view no matter how I change ceiling heights, of stemwall height in either floor 1 or 0. Am I missing something obvious, like a check box or do I need to cast a spell and tap my heels 3 times? Either a bug or I suddenly forgot how to change stemwall heights? MPDesign
Shot in the dark, did you rebuild the foundation after setting to 24"? Is the room set to unspecified or a room name? Are the defaults for foundation set to your desired settings? Just some thoughts.

It should adjust when I adjust the floor or stemwall height? I tried changing the room names from unfinished to living room, but no luck. Thanks for chiming in so quick. I'm cramming to get something out this weekend before I leave on vacation. Looks like I'll be bringing my laptop with me....
JiAngelo
Is there more than one room above? And if so are you opening the room below to change the stem wall height? I believe you can't change the stemwall height from a room above's dbx due to the presence of multiple rooms.
DRAWZILLA
You need to turn on auto foundation rebuild to change it or delete your foundation and do it manually. Auto is much faster.
SHCanada2
i dont use auto build foundation as it then deletes everything in the basement, and I adjust stemwalls frequently to match the basement foundation height Adding +24 to stemwall in floor 0 defaults works on my template plan(which has a basement):. so not sure what the issue is, unfortunately, maybe post the plan. My guess it has something to do with the "no change" that shows for the ceiling (multiple rooms with different heights as John indicated)

I had accidentally checked the box for "Floor supplied by the foundation room below", in my frantic messing around. Open the DBX, close the DBX, open the DBX, close the DBX. Wish we could affect these parameters and see the changes live rather than the idealized representation in the Dialogue box side window. My fault, but Chief has a pretty arcane way of working this stuff out. my apologies. 1

Yes I don't think we'll ever get away from opening DBX and closing DBX and opening and closing.... I wonder if there is any group of software users who open and close more dialogue boxes than us Chief users? Bet we're ahead by a lot because nobody does it like that anymore... I set up a hotkey for my 'f' key to open the dialogue box. I figured it was the easiest keypress (left hand home row index finger doesn't get much easier than that) and a button on my mouse for 'enter' so at least I can open and close them efficiently... Haven't made the jump to 17 yet but was hoping for better controls over basement stemwall heights.
