  2. to place chairs under tables you simply select the chai, then press your keyboard "CTRL" control key, then drag the selected chair under the table. Pressing the Control Key overrides the natural tendency for solid object not to invade the "space" of other objects/symbols in Chief. DJP
  3. A lead pipe solution to this is to revert to Windows 10 until the egg heads get the wrinkles ironed out, my Windows 10 PC works like butter. DJP
  4. Chief is programmed to work in specific ways, part of the leaning curve is to observe and learn these barriers or conventions and work with them to get your projects completed. Tommy, above is pointing out one of those conventions. You can control this in Edit-Preferences if you wish but it is better to just let the program run as intended by its makers. DJP
  5. The lines are either on a layer that is on that you may be able to turn off or you can delete the lines after the view is sent to layout using the "Edit layout Lines Tool" . DJP
  6. You create a terrain feature where you wish to remove the terrain, then once created you check the radio button in the dialog of the terrain feature to be a "Hole In Terrain", then that object, so programmed removes the unwanted terrain. DJP
  7. You need to get over any notions you may have on "Perfect" as a standard for what you produce using Chief Architect. It often produces in competent hands quite acceptable outcomes and products but "Perfection" is most often manually achieved using the "Edit Layout Lines" tool, Photo shop etc. Such questions as "why does it do that ..." are best pointed at Tech Support or Chief's software Architects-Engineers and not to users who specialize in just getting it done. DJP
  8. Like every other symbol or object in Chief they have a Dialog Box and a Material tab that you manually set in terms of its materials. Take a look please... DJP
  9. There is a "Vice President for Scholastic Sales" at Chief Inc. and that person would be who I asked that question to. as Eric suggested, call her. DJP
  10. Just call Customer Sales to get your answer. DJP
  11. Send them to me and I will convert them and then send them back. DJP
  12. The client viewer does not require an RTX card because it is not ray traced, it is a standard type camera view. One only needs a browser that supports Java Script to view viewer models in a browser. DJP
  13. I help Home Designer users with their plans on a regular basis. I charge $75.00 per hour. If you wish an estimate please share a copy of your floor plan along with the Architectural style for the home and its roof system and I will get back to you with an estimate of effort to complete please. DJP
  14. I can help, I also teach/tutor others in Chief and Home Designer software as well as an outsource. DJP
  15. I frequently manually save my "User Library's" per version to One Drive and also to a USB HD that I have so if everything goes away, I have those back ups. DJP
  16. Group-Select the walls you wish to edit and then open the group dialog for those walls, select Wall Types and then select a foundation wall type that also has a "brick ledge". then Click "OK" to close and affect your intended changes. The software is not "Smart or Intelligent" it is basically a robot that you control by settings that YOU make. It does have some "automatic" build into it by it does them robotically. DJP
  17. Control-key-left-click-drag the appliance into the cabinet always works. DJP
  18. What are the specs of your new computer, please? X12 should work better on a new computer provided it meets or exceeds "Minimum Requirements" listed on the Chief Architect Website. DJP
  19. You may not have read the license agreement for a Chief Architect Seat, in that your license allows all versions to run under that license. I have Versions 7, 9, 10 and X1 through X13 on my PC. In order to sell you my X1 license I would also have to transfer all my other licenses to you as all their software is under one end user license. In order for you to buy only X1 from someone they would only have X1 to sell and have and use NO other licenses or versions of Chief. You should verify this with Chief Architect Sales to be sure. DJP
  20. In X13 you go to "Library" dropdown and select "Import .alb files convert to .calibz" , navagate to the old .alb library file from Version 10, select it and then it will import into X13 as a .calibz library file. DJP
