  1. if the object is right but the dimension is not quite right, I will do a point 2 point dimension, which if you dimension to nowhere CA will put in a "marker" point, which you can then move the marker point to be where you want it to be and the length you want, and no one will notice if it does not match exactly. more of a generic solution...that I use when I get frustrated
  2. I think we need a dedicated tips and ticks thread to grass where everyone posts a picture of their grass and the settings. Then everyone can just peruse grass all day instead of everyone spending all day creating grass. And then there will be a whole bunch of variants of grass to pick from. Or we pass around the hat to the few that may want to
  3. i think that is only the case if you navigate to it using the little arrows, and not clicking on the catalog? ..or at least that what happened when I tried it. once I click on any other catalog it shows in the filter. so how did you click on something without clicking on the catalog it is in?
  4. I think that is by design, if I click on an individual item, I already know what I am on so i do not need it to show in the filtered results. the filtered results look like anything other than a click on a individual item
  5. the other way you can do it which is not as accurate is to group select them, then hold the control key down while you rotate the group with the mouse. I do this a lot for pictures of site plans. I draw a horizontal line then try and align the plot line in the picture to line up to the horizontal line i just drew. but even then I will typically still adjust in the Tranform replicate 0.1 deg one way or the other to get it close to perfect as I will then draw setback dimensions from it
  6. I assume you want them all rotated the same amount sometime i will click on the line that I want to be at some angle, and click on transform replicate, click on rotate->absolute angle, and then record the angle it is currently at, and the subtract that from whatever angle you want it to be, and then group select all the lines, go back into transform replicate, and then rotate that "relative" amount.. so if that 80.22 line is at 285 deg and you want it at 270(vertical), then the difference is 15. so group select all the lines and rotate them relative -15 deg (negative is clockwise). they will all move -15 deg, and your 80.22 line will be vertical
  7. A screenshot of the lines and what you want to do with them would help. You should be able to group select them the use the transform replicate to rotate them
  8. when this happens to me (because I forgot to change the defaults at the beggining), I either select all the dimensions and change the number size or go into the dimension default for one dimension line, and change the text size (but then the labels are mismatched), this will change for all dimension lines that use that set you can also change the dimension default used by the dimension line, but you would have to do for each, or select them all and do it
  9. a screenshot of where you are looking and your elevation would help
  10. if you have the X15 beta, you can also replace all fonts in the plan or layout in a single shot.
  11. thanks, I'm always looking for better backgrounds
  12. that was creative, thanks. I was looking for a method last week, but ran out of time to do something beyond the default. but now i know where to look board & batten board and batten
  13. I got it to show eventually (it did not originally but I do not know what I did, I think once the callout C01 was showing, and now it can go on and off, but not sure)
  14. please add your request to the suggestions forum. There are many of us who would like deck improvements
  15. gable backed into a shed roof? try a gable line?
  16. I believe then you can report that via the regular support tool
  17. material list using a polyline?
  18. for us up here in canadaland, there are regulatory requirements for window openings, but not doors as doors are solid
  19. basically, ideally, you want to ensure you know what scale your plans will be in layout before you start dimensioning or adding text. Once you know that you then pick your default set accordingly. and the way I do that is I change my saved plan views to use the one I want. You have to do it once at the beginning of the project..if what you want does not match the template SPV. I think others just have multiple templates but of course, you have to set these all up. Mine are a bit overkill, but I just spent a few hours one day manually doing them all. The other way is after the fact the way you are doing it, or changing the text style to what you want and everything that uses that text style will change.
  20. hmm how is this being accomplished? if I dimension my building, add text, dimension electrical, and then I need to expand the building so a different scale is required in on layout. wouldn't you have to go into each and change them? Room label text style, dimension text size, etc.
  21. I did the math on 512GB, I can do 500 projects. if the 1TB was only $100 more, I'd probably buy it as they are faster read/write I do go over 16GB RAM on my dedicated machine but that is because I am opening other things, such as MS edge.
