  1. Rich text has always been like this. Forget about multi-selecting rich text for editing.
  2. Here's what I use. I made these several versions ago and have these two symbols in my library. Not perfect but does the job. I changed the cad block for plan views.
  3. Rob, you can open the layout you show in your posted layout image and look at the referenced files for that layout. That might give you a clue on how to fix it.
  4. In the project folder, be sure all associated files such as plan files, layout file, images, etc. that are linked to the layout are in that folder. You really don't need a folder within the project folder.
  5. Cait, in your 1st picture that also shows the scaffolding, I can see the joists. This means that the attic wall is cantilevered over the lower wall. Easiest way to do this is to create a 2nd floor (defined as attic) so you have room definition and just move the wall out as needed. This will make it work fine in 3D.
  6. Wow, I don't hear that very much but I do the same. It shows detail better.
  7. If your using David's method and your not seeing they trey (soffit), then check the height of the ceiling in relation to the height of the soffit. Also be sure you have cabinet soffits turned on in the layer display.
  8. "They are custom and can be big problems to fabricate correctly." True. Most of the time, these would be site built. If they are built off site, then it's up to the cabinet company or cabinet maker to site verify everything. That would be stated in my plan. "This is one of the cases where we have to do the work we get paid for." I get paid by the hour. I let them know that it will cost more time to show this.
  9. When I have an wall cabinet that is angled at the top to follow a sloped ceiling, I make it manually piece by piece. PIA.
  10. You will have some editing to do with the elevations. Haven't flipped in X11 yet though. I don't need to do this often though.

    Please Help

Have you tried drawing a marquee around all of them to group select? By doing that, you should be able to move in any direction and rotate.
  12. If I'm understanding Scott right, I think I work similar to him. Most of the time, I also place my columns manually. This makes it easier for me to dimension beam spans for the engineer. I've been doing it like this for so many years that it really doesn't take long to do it.
  13. Rob, If you're still having issues trying to do this, I would be happy to show you via online meeting (I use Team Viewer), or I could walk you through over the phone. Feel free to call my cell: 832-754-6160.
  14. Try closing Chief completely and reopen. Maybe an issue with mouse or video card.
  15. You could make life easy on yourself and just place a slab or solid there and place it as needed under the deck and change materials to whatever you want for the ceiling under the deck.
  16. Here is a tutorial I made for placing a stair volute. This was made with version X8. Most people will be able to open it. Hope this helps. Volute Tutorial.zip
  17. Steven, I'll be available sometime this afternoon if you want some one on one help with this. Should be an easy fix. Using Team Viewer, we can do an online meeting so I can show you and you can ask some questions. No charge of course. If interested, email me or call me 832-754-6160.
  18. Use solids or slabs or molding poly lines
  19. If you're on a different computer, yes.
  20. I think you're going to have to do what you don't want to do. It's not too bad once you get used to doing it and use the trim tools. I would send the elevation view to a cad detail and edit it from there.
  21. An option if you want that specific image would be to do a "print screen" from your keyboard. Open a photo editing program and paste it as a new image. Crop as needed. Might help.
  22. Rob, I'm in Houston, TX and don't know if our details match what you all do there. I have to show a typical exterior wall section (edited for specific situation) along with the foundation detail that specifies steel (rebar) and everything. I also have another detail I use for rebar at corner connections. I can send you a library of these 3 details (cad items) in a Chief library if you like. You could edit them as needed. Email me if interested or call me at 832-754-6160.
