I took it many years ago. I think I barely passed. It is a great tool to learn what my weaknesses were.

ditto, it happened 30 minutes ago.

I just noticed that OBO walls are now gray scale fills and not a color. When did the earth's axis change?

That is nice Mark. I am assuming just the two lights and no additional work.

I stopped doing RT's years ago when the renderings got good. I want speed, not quality. I like WC's but they are too slow. I do about 20 or 30 renderings each time for my clients. I did a couple of renderings and PBR's attached, the PBR's in this case ain't half bad. I did no touchup. I shot and went, slammed and jammed, picked and clicked.... I do need to work on what is outside the windows.....

Graham, this is a great thread you started. I would like to learn some stuff here. I have played with PBR very very little..... I take a shot and do nothing more.... results not worth using. The questions is..... does it take a lot of fiddling around with settings to get a reasonable view?

Pardon me, isn't this plain flat out stupid...... so how much time do I need to spend to get the answer...... just stupid, thanks Graham. I guess I will report this. I can't believe this behavior has not been posted before and just not fixed..... what a waste of time...... To make mine work, I had to use this shape .......

Thanks for bringing this up. See my conundrum below. molding does not work 1.plan

Joe, this is what they want to do. add new house to a lot that has an existing house (zoned RM-1-1.) There is no more than 3500 s.f. of floor area on the ground floor. It is a sprinklered building. If I go back to my apartment designing days, I think the floor area here is small enough that a 2-hour separation is not required.

Maybe she hinted at the answer here. oops, that is wrong, it is closer that 2'..... I think Richard has the answer.

Yeah, I am going to call the plan reviewer soon. I wanted some ammo when I called her. I also wanted to catch her after lunch when she would be more helpful after a nice meal.

Okay, it is one building....... now is there a reason I can't have only one building? If I can call it one building, that would be the solution.

So, the design is okay? All I need is blocking at eave, 5/8" type x at wall under the exterior finish, and the opening at the deck is okay? If the opening was a window, I would put in fire rated windows if needed but there are no windows, just an opening. Heck, I will plate the walls with gold if I do not have to redesign the deck. So, do you think the design is okay if I fire block and wrap walls with fire rated material? (I do not want to hold the deck back. I cannot believe this is something that has never been done before (overlooking an attached structure from a deck)

Hey Guys, I need some help here. I have two houses on the same lot. They are attached per picture. See plan reviewer's comments and let me know what your interpretation is. The new house on the lot has a balcony with a view that overlooks the existing house on the lot. Can I do this design at all?

I am sorry for the bother, all is well now.......

How do I undo Scale to Fit? I was in plan, I hit option F2 and then II hit the SCALE TO FIT and now my lines are very heavy.... I do not want them to be so heavy see pic

How to get cutout under stairs with no doorway opening

I think you can use a PASS THRU and have it shaped like that opening. You can always reshape the wall in 3d but that gets messy. -
Much appreciated mi Amigo..... I fixed it by taking the FASCIA copying it, and then making it FRAMING MATERIAL.... I have to use a fascia material that is defined as FRAMING because I have to use a 1/16" soffit so the wall finish goes up to roof sheathing instead of stopping at roof plane and yada yadda yada..... thanks again Eric.

I give up. I cannot find out how to eliminate the ceiling finish. See pics, I have circled the ceiling ..... i want to see the decking and not the "drywall" at the ceiling. I can do it on one roof plane, see plans, how do I achieve this on all roof planes. no finish at ceiling how.planno finish at ceiling how.plan

never mind, it is a molding

Alan, what is creating the white band at the floor line?
