  1. If I went from the 'puter on the left to the 'puter on the right I would notice a difference?
  2. Maybe I don't know what I am talking about. Maybe I have a quad core , but with hyper threading I have 8 cores. Do I have what most folks would consider a "quad core"?
  3. I think I have 8 cores. I might trade this one in for the pro version. It is pricey but might be worth it in time saved.... not sure. For most projects the system I have works fine but I have a 53 mb file that can be painfully slow at times. With my present system updating all views in layout can take a minute or two and that is what happens with the new computer.
  4. An update: I did get the new computer. I have been using it for a few days now. It has been underwhelming. I will probably return the computer in the next few days. I would appreciate any comments.
  5. So now the question is, suppose I want the ply sheathing and the rigid insulation that is over the ply heating to go up to top plates but I want to stop the finish at soffit. IOW, what is controlling when the additional exterior layers stop at soffit and when they stop at top plates. Maybe some of the additional layers should be part of the main wall layer.
  6. I do not think you are missing anything, I think they might of fixed this.
  7. Is this new? Note the wall sheathing goes to the top plate and the finish stops at the soffit. This is good..... has it always behaved like this?
  8. change the second floor defaults first and then change the first floor defaults . everything should then work.
  9. Here you go Steve, your ref, add to library and then stick in cabinet and the move down a couple of times. steve ref with scott editing.plan
  10. There you go Steve, you now have 2 you can use. Note I added a refrigerator that you should add to your library and then you can drop it in a cabinet. Thanks for bringing this topic up.
  11. Thanks Eric, I could not do anything with it. I could not take ref out of cabinet if I wanted to. I have added my own ref in cab. Problem is my ref always goes into top part of cabinet. ref in cab 2.plan
  12. Eric, would you mind posting your refrigerator in a cabinet so we can take a look? Thanks
  13. Yep, what he said. I will give Eric's method a go.
  14. I bet one room is a slab and the other is a wood floor..... OTOH, sometimes when the wall is very wide, the floor material goes missing..... and then you could PTP
  15. Thanks Michael, A nice refresher. I do not remember if you need to resend after changing the settings. Maybe Dan needs to resend with the correct settings.
  16. Is there a way to predetermine whether it arcs concave or convex. I swear, after 12 years I think it always goes in the opposite direction I want.
  17. I think you understand it correctly, the slow down is linking the views to a new plan file.
  18. So funny, I started spelling the “M” with an Em, eliminated the “m” got confused and blah blah blah, only the 33rd mistake I made today.
  19. You are wrong. Build it and you will understand.
  20. Yes, that is the point. A deck built on level zero directly below a deck built on level 1 gets confusing when looking at framing plan in plan view. i have this situation in a plan. Inserting a floor could solve the problem but I am dealing with three units in one plan file on one lot with multiple floor heights. I tried inserting the new level zero but my project then looked like an E C Escher drawing.
