I use midspan bearing trusses very very very rarely. It is typically not necessary. As far as brace lateral walls every 25' , that is if the prescriptive method is being used. Since every project I do (99.997%) need to be engineered, I do not need to abide by the perspective method.

Nice job Glenn.... are they walls or fences? I am assuming wall since you have a footing. I am assuming they do not follow terrain (or not a stepped fence) (since it it a wall and not a fence) I am assuming they were all edited in elevation BTW, I am really getting into the auto story pole. I wish we could adjust the height of walls (particularly retaining and site walls ) in plan view in lieu of editing in elevation. In this project, I needed to adjust the top and bottom of wall to a specific height relative to sea level. I AND AND AND , I wish we could adjust the height of the walls 2 ways 1- relative to the first floor (0.0) 2- relative to M.S.L. -
this might be clearer

You cited a reason why you would want two materials,. The reason I wanted to do it yesterday is we were trying to do a work around..... it was Richard Morrison's idea .... using the footing as CMU and having it go into the terrain.. -

I found it very interesting that we could not change the FOOTING MATERIAL. I suppose somewhere in the defaults it can be changed, but that would CHANGE ALL FOOTINGS. So if you wanted 2 DIFFERENT FOOTING MATERIALS for two different walls, it is not possible. -

Thanks to all that attended and a big thanks to Glenn for presenting and to Steve for the wall solution I was after. Here is the vid. 2 hours long, probably tough to watch, better to just listen for any highlights, always better to be there. -

If I remember, I will record. ChopSaw is usually kind enough to record but I think he said something about using up all his download time.... I will try.... yeah, you better go to the in-law's bday. -

Some one just asked me if it will be PST or PDT. It will be 3:00 California time when my Iphone says 3:00. I get it..... sometimes we cannot be clear enough. I guess it would be PDT ..... -
I will be hosting a: Walls/Railing Workshop Tuesday, April 24rth at 3:00 PM PST This will be an online meeting. If you are interested, please email me. Do not call me, do not answer in this thread, do not text me and do not send smoke signals. I think Glenn Woodward might be able to make it and he is The King of railings. This should be a good workshop. Please email me at dscotthallATmacDOTcom

I could swear I saw there was on option to not show scroll bars, I can't find it now.

My bad, if close to something, a point is not placed.
-
I thought this was so also, however, I am still getting points.... there may be an option to not use them....

Yes, RARELY change ceiling height, change the floor height above, BTW, if your second floor heights were all default heights, all you would need to do is to change the default floor height at second floor and then all rooms would be fixed. Don't forget to adjust your roof elevation manually, it will not fix itself auto unless you are auto building roofs.
-
open each room and default the floor and ceiling. don't forget to then manually raise or lower your roof to accommodate new plate height.

Hey Michael, no difference, you talked about adding a line and so did I, sorry, I did not mean to give you short shrift. But the extra work I added is for the format I want to use ... I need to be able to show height of the structure at sometimes what is considered an arbitrary elevation (5' from building on the highest level unless the highest level is more than 10' higher than lowest level, then the height must be taken from the lowest level but no more than 10' difference....... unless it is third Thursday of the month..... then the parameters change. Also take a look at what I did... I am showing the MSL at all floors and ceiling and that is only possible from the outside dimension , but I don't need all those elevations from the height elevation hence the request to be able to limit what is dimensioned not only on outside dimension line but also inside dimension line. This is what so often happens with CA, they do a feature half way.... however.... I must take some blame because I did have a chance to make the request but I did not during BETA... my bad.

How about a molding line with a molding for each course and use the horizontal offset for each course. Make the the molding one time 20 courses tall and depending on how many courses you want visible, raise or lower the molding line.

I think this might be the format I will use going forward. Not fully auto but not too bad
