  1. I think Perry is right, I usually do it Perry's way.
  2. Rich Winsor, almost as funny as Alan L. thanks, good laugh in the AM.
  3. see how I changed it, select, open and change.
  4. select that arrow and open and change it.
  5. I leave interior and exterior walls on the default layer. It is not worth the hassle to separate them. For 2 stories I have learned to use room fills to hide lower floor walls that are under the second floor envelope. I just wish that the DOORS would take on the fill of the adjacent room. IOW, I can see the ref floor below that I do not want to see. So why don't I turn that layer off? because there are some items OUTSIDE OF THOSE 2ND FLOOR PERMITER that I do want to see, i.e. the first floor walls that are outside of the 2nd floor envelope.
  6. As usual, a great solution. Never thought of this before.....
  7. Thanks Steve, from what I have read, it is a big change. Was it change that you can now not live without? Top 2 features for you?
  8. That is what I would of guessed. I am not sure I would dash the walls. I like the way you "hugged" the terrain close to house so as to hide some of foundation wall, but to avoid the hassle of manipulating the "SOLID" lines above grade, I would leave them solid above and below grade. Since you are using the color of the foundation walls, I would leave the lines solid. The use of the terrain is very nice. I am so into editing as little as possible... if it was real stone, it would be below grade sitting on some sort of a footing.... if it was applied phony stone..... it is typically stopped at the stucco street. (above the terrain).... just thinking out loud
  9. 2 questions: 1- now why do I not see the stone below grade? 2- why is wall below grade dashed but the line of wall above grade solid?
  10. I read some reviews on Big Sur and the feedback is the Big Sur slowed the computer, so I have not updated the OS. Has anybody had a bad experience using Big Sur with CA?
  11. To follow up on that, we can use single line for the first floor and double line for the second floor. Hmmmm, I wonder if I can use ref layers..... probably too much trouble at this time.
  12. Thanks Michael, that is what I thought. I sure wish it was view specific.
  13. Hey guys, I thought we could have a plan view in layout displaying single line framing and then another view in layout displaying double line framing. Is this true or not? Again late to the party on this, but can it be done?
  14. Thanks Glenn for looking into this. Back to my point, standing on your left leg holding an umbrella in your right hand, you may get what you want. This is such a great feature that CA has given us, I just wish it would work correctly. You point ending the BEARING LINE at the platform edge works sometimes. Also reshaping the bearing line helps.
  15. Stairs, Stairs, Stairs, I have given up...... sad to say, I don't bother trying to get the stairs correct. See the attachments, look at the handrail. Why doesn't it behave on the 2nd floor? I know why, because there is a wall below that for some reason effects how the handrail misbehaves. The stairs work perfect if all conditions are ideal, but I never have the perfect ideal condition for stairs to behave. It just seems that we should be able to edit the shape of the handrails, steps, landing etc, manually. Do the other 3D programs have these issues?
  16. I wish we could have CONSTRUCTION LINES that could be deleted in one fell swoop. I have requested this many times....
  17. of Gray (american) and Grey (British) for the color. or is that colour? Hey Joe, how is the golf game? Are you interested in joining us at RBI on Thursday afternoons at noon?
  18. I remember that.... not sure what happened.
  19. The biggest joke was the woman with the bar and outdoor eating.... they shut down her out door eating area. The next day a movie studio set up a 75 seat eating are in the same parking lot as hers to feed their movie crew. Such a joke. Lynn and I are committed to eating out as much as possible to support these restaurant owners. They are getting shafted. Such a *&*$^^&%* joke. Check out the video https://www.businessinsider.com/los-angeles-restaurant-owners-video-on-outdoor-dining-goes-viral-2020-12
  20. Steve, after changing the obscure box, you must retake the view.
  21. uncheck it Steve, do not have it checked. My example is a vector view and I can see through the window.
  22. CAn't you use a glass material and designate the glass as not obscure? There may be a downside but I can't think of it now.
