Thanks Larry, I think yours looks better than mine. On my Mac it does not look as good as I remember it and on my iPad it does not look as good. In fact on my iPad I cannot toggle the shadows on and off because when I press the radio button, it does not stick. (on either of my iPads). On my Mac, I can toggle the shadows on and off.

Hi Larry, here is a link to the model. Please check it out to see if your views are better than mine. I get a lot of the jiggies and jaggies (not smooth lines at edges) https://3d-viewer.chiefarchitect.com/go?share=412474203073539

Thanks for that info Dermot, that helped. However, the model on my Mac still is not great. Is it a Mac thing or am I still missing something? My model looks nowhere as good as David's model(Parkwest).

Here are the specs on the materials. It looks they are not emissive. Am I missing something? The two materials are the stucco and the fascia.

Hi Chop, not sure what you are saying. Are you saying that THE VIEWER does not run very good on the MAC? I do not use the VIEWER often, but it seems like it ran well before this latest VERSION of CA.

3D Viewer on a MAC. Is this the best I can get? These are screen shots of the STANDARD VIEW (not BASIC VIEW). Is anybody getting better pics?

Stairs going through doorway... is there something I'm missing??
dshall replied to HCremodel's topic in General Q & A
Steve, you are correct, if the doorway is on the same floor as the stairs, the stairs cut the wall. I think you can put that doorway in a wall on the LEVEL above and it will create the opening. I alway have a wall above on the level above. -
Sorry, I misspoke..... I meant X3 (not. X13) Before X3 you could only have 1 ref set. Only one ref set with all plan views. You had to use the same exact ref set for any plan view. With X3 you could have a different ref set with every plan view. With this release (or was it the prior release) a plan view can have multiple ref sets including a ref set from a different plan. Multiple ref sets are powerful in that we can now have some layers with DETAILS ON and some layers with DETAILS OFF.... (DETAILS ON means the FILLS will show). (remember the MRLS & the MMRLS?)

X-13 is solid, you should be able to use it with no issues.

Fair point Doug. Also, if the grade is sloped, how does that change the look of the cultured stone? Does the cultured stone also need to be sloped by additional manipulation?

Stairs going through doorway... is there something I'm missing??
dshall replied to HCremodel's topic in General Q & A
This is a nuisance. I am assuming you created the opening via a doorway and not an invisible wall which I think is the correct approach. I think you have built the opening too far into drywall. Try making the opening 1/8” smaller. But not perfect. -
that method has its own issues. I recommend showing roof planes via ref sets. starting with x13 when CA fixed the ref sets. They have become more and more powerful. If you don’t think they are powerful, you do not understand them.

cabinet waterfall edge..... where is it controlled

I bet the answer is no.

I absolutely agree. A great feature.

Are you guys still seeing truss issues?
-
Are we still having issues with trusses? This is a truss at second floor,. I even removed the low3er roof plane from plan hoping it would build correctly, no dice. Anybody else?
-
Clever idea. Thanks Dermot for the response..... I wonder if there is a downside to being able to select a door after placed in plan. and then changing from interior to exterior. All of my doors have some special stuff linked to them by the Alaskan Son, so I never put in a new door from CA, they are all copied from an older plan. I must of got a bit sloppy and not realized there is a difference betters the two programs.

Does anybody know How to Turn exterior door to interior door. I have 20 interior doors that CA thinks are exterior, hence the door type is incorrect for interior doors. How do you get CA to recognize an exterior door as an interior door? thanks

Does anybody have any comments in regards to the new 2021 22" IMAC's?
