  1. since we are on the subject., I though we could put a 6' hi railing on a 3' hi railing (if they are both defined as no room def.). and it would look like a pony wall... but we can't.

    Mystery

I vaguely remember this also. I think/thought it was fixed.
  3. yep, min 6" deep at any point and a minimum of 10" wide 12" in from edge (the walk line)
  4. Glenn, are those panels or a pony wall?
  5. Hello…hello…. This has bugged me too, we have done workshops on this and we couldn’t come up with a solution. I had a need for a pony wall following the terrain just today and it was a no go, Why can’t this be fixed. I know, I should make a request in the suggestions forum…. I have done that…. I hear you Harry, such a sim0le request….. back to Judge Judy.
  6. I usually do submit feature requests. I think I submitted a request 10 years ago for this particular feature? I forget now. Joe did submit a feature request on this the other day. No worries, you guys have done a super job with so many other feature, this is a small hiccup.
  7. It is really nutty of CA not to of fixed this by now. Who would want their top and bottom plates covered up by a wall fill. I think I complained about this back in '63, but I was ignored. My wife ignores me too, but tonight I am taking her out for Pakistani food and she is excited...... she like me, she really likes me.
  8. Hi Glenn, I have thought of this, but it creates it's own issues. I actually tried a wood grain fill at one time, but for some reason that was a mess. The big deal is it covers up thetas and bottom plates. It might be okay if the fill was there, in fact it could be desirable since now the fill will also define whether the wall is existing or new in section view as well as plan view. That is the answer! Leave the fill in but put it behind the top and bottom plates.... in fact, maybe it would be nice if the exterior wall not only showed the insulation but the wall fill also. As it is now, either you get the fill or the insulation, maybe we want both. Hey CA, please fix this during your coffee break today. Thank You.
  9. Does anybody like the wall fill when we auto detail sections?
  10. That is awesome Kevin!!! I am on a MAC. Can anybody out there on a MAC do the same quality of work as Kevin? If so, I want to hire you to show me how to do it. Seriously, can anybody out there help me do what Kevin does? If you can, please post a rendering From a MAC and then let's talk Thanks you can email me if you would like.
  11. Yep, I do pretty much the same thing. My point of the thread was I did not realize by relinking a plan even if already linked, the elevations are updated in an instant. iow, this method is much faster than hitting the UPDATE ALL ELEVATIONS button which takes longer. thanks Rene.
  12. I think you have the right idea. manually create a floor in the portion of the closet where you want to raise the floor and then I am assuming yo want a sloped ceiling over a portion of the stairs to get required head room and with the for cross section views and 3d you can add a slopedceiing plane. A little bit of work but very doable.
  13. Did you guys ever notice.... Relink plans to layout will auto update all elevations ...... and fast..... love it!
  14. 2 monitors, all sidebars stay on main monitor where CA resides. I think you are correct., it is a multiple monitor issue. It seems Brian keeps telling me that.
  15. Make sure the "C" is checked and not another option. Do you understand what this is?
  16. Thanks Rabbit, the video inspired me to better understand how to quickly change dimension defaults for cabinets. Sometimes I tend buck the CA method, but fortunately after beating my head against the wall for several years, I always come around.
  17. The Alaskan Son is a great asset to this community. I have met him in person and a very nice guy. I do not think he needs to sell his services. He is probably as busy as he wants to be. I do very little serious cabinet dimensioning so I have not experienced these issues but as usual, I learned a lot from this thread and what Michael was explaining. These are the types of threads that I really love. Lots of back and forth trying to determine if the user or the program is failing. I think we are all very lucky that some heavy hitters spent their time helping us understand some dimensioning methods.
  18. I got the corrupt tool bars for the first time (I think first time) in X13 just the other day. I never know what I did to cause this malfunction. I leave my tool bars alone.... I never move them or customize them anymore yet the corruption occasionally lifts its nasty head. grrrrrrrr......
  19. Yep, and to expand on that, on the second floor make it open below and then you can put in a minimal slope roof (1/2:12) 2' below topo 2nd floor walls.
  20. if you are referring to the roof planes, you build it out or roof planes.
  21. It could happen with a PC also. They listed a fix for a PC so I assume it can happened to a PC.' all good now'
  22. WOW, never mind, I got it fixed. I was just working along and suddenly I had this issue. Not sure what caused it.
  23. Critical error....do you have any idea what this means? I get this with every file I open. Do you guys have any idea what this means? thanks
