  1. Interesting. you are showing plywood on the roof.... I am assuming you put that in manually?
  2. That is 3D. I believe he was asking how to do in PLAN VIEW.
  3. ADJUST MATERIAL DEFINITION. BTW, I may not of read your post correctly..... is there the roller at the bottom of the screen that is either clicked on or off? This might be two different issues. I could not change the color. You might be using the MATERIAL EYEDROPPER, you are changing color and the pattern/texture. try the ADJUST MATERIAL DEFINITION (rainbow tool)
  4. This is so weird. I was just experiencing this issue. I was not able to change the COLOR of. material using the RAINBOW TOOL. This was going on for about a week or two and suddenly this morning it is working again. I am on a MAC.
  5. Larry, try using a true curved polyline to create a true curve to that roof plane. Do not use the segmented curve for roof plane. just a guess.
  6. I have been using this program for 15 years. I have tried user groups, private tutors etc, The best way I have found to get help is right here on Chief Talk. There are plenty of good folks on this site who will help you out....... and just think about it.... you can usually get an answer in less than 10 minutes.
  7. Yeppers .... except I ain't smart enough to do the auto roofs
  8. Try Tommy Blair,  he lives in Houston

  9. Well, they bought the home, but I do not think it has been surveyed yet.... so I do not know. They might come to me this year. Whenever you buy something in La Jolla, I think it takes some time to get your feet under you again.
  10. I think Perry is right, I usually do it Perry's way.
  11. Rich Winsor, almost as funny as Alan L. thanks, good laugh in the AM.
  12. see how I changed it, select, open and change.
  13. select that arrow and open and change it.
  14. I leave interior and exterior walls on the default layer. It is not worth the hassle to separate them. For 2 stories I have learned to use room fills to hide lower floor walls that are under the second floor envelope. I just wish that the DOORS would take on the fill of the adjacent room. IOW, I can see the ref floor below that I do not want to see. So why don't I turn that layer off? because there are some items OUTSIDE OF THOSE 2ND FLOOR PERMITER that I do want to see, i.e. the first floor walls that are outside of the 2nd floor envelope.
  15. As usual, a great solution. Never thought of this before.....
  16. Thanks Steve, from what I have read, it is a big change. Was it change that you can now not live without? Top 2 features for you?
  17. That is what I would of guessed. I am not sure I would dash the walls. I like the way you "hugged" the terrain close to house so as to hide some of foundation wall, but to avoid the hassle of manipulating the "SOLID" lines above grade, I would leave them solid above and below grade. Since you are using the color of the foundation walls, I would leave the lines solid. The use of the terrain is very nice. I am so into editing as little as possible... if it was real stone, it would be below grade sitting on some sort of a footing.... if it was applied phony stone..... it is typically stopped at the stucco street. (above the terrain).... just thinking out loud
  18. 2 questions: 1- now why do I not see the stone below grade? 2- why is wall below grade dashed but the line of wall above grade solid?
  19. I read some reviews on Big Sur and the feedback is the Big Sur slowed the computer, so I have not updated the OS. Has anybody had a bad experience using Big Sur with CA?
