Taking A Chief Plan From Mac To Windows And Back Again
dshall replied to rtedesignllc's topic in General Q & A
Just do it, no problems, do not overthink. I have gone back and forth with no problems. -
I hear what you are saying. I do export one view at a time. This has worked for me, but I hear you. However, I think for a structural engineer, he only needs your framing and foundation plans. I think you can export all FLOORS/LEVELS in one fell swoop. I think...... I just tried to export/import several layers/floors in one fell swoop..... I was unsucessful. I bet there will be someone who will explain how to do what you want to do very soon. If nobody explains how to do it, it should not take too long. Export maybe 3 layers for a two story, you should be able to do that in 90 seconds.

So so true. Immediate support for any issues is well worth the 500.00 cost of SSA. If you don't use it, it is even more valuable. Oh...... Mon Cherie, how are you?

Oh, my bad, I did not realize this was the sneak a peak thread. Apologies to CA.

Hey Joe, if you want, you can do a prelim test with me. Maybe I can provide a few constructive critiques before the big launch. Joe, this will be huge if you get it right. I think you know what I am looking for, but a guinne pig such as myself might be a good test for your macro. BTW, I do not know how to spell guinne....... I went to the Perry School of Spelling.

ditto, both systems work well, switching from pc to mac was a little rough in the beginning, but I would not go back. However, the pc worked very well.

You know Lew, there have been several features that you have requested that have eventually been implemented and I would like to thank you for that. Now when it comes to your suggestion to lock floors..... I ain't so keen on that one..... but others have paid off hansomly.

Question About Displaying Objects On Multiple Levels
dshall replied to tahoebrian5's topic in General Q & A
I don't get what you do not understand. I thought you understood the ref sets. I do not use Glenn's method. i use ref sets. I think Perry uses ref sets. If you use ref sets, there is no CAD involved. Learn the power of ref sets..... it can be improved...... it can be improved if CA gives us the ability to use the MMRLS, which is the ability to use multiple ref sets for any view sent to layout, but until they give us the MMRLS, the MRLS works very well. I have read that others want to modify the ref sets because they think it will be more intuitive.... I don't get that..... ref sets work very well the way they are set up if you understand them..... One more side note, if you use Glenn's method, that will mess up your MATERIAL LIST. I don't use material lists yet because I think they are too difficult to use in the present set up, but eventually, the material lists will be super. -

dshall replied to pacificstart's topic in General Q & A

wait a minute...... this is interesting.... so what do you suggest? don't use legacy shadows? don't use legacy shadows because it slows down computer? if you don't use legacy shadows you get the spikes... ... so..... I want a fast comupter (don't use legacy shadows)....so I won't use legacy shadows, but if I don't use legacy shadows I get spikes..... not good. So how do I not use legacy shadows and avoid the spikes Thanks for the help Rashid, this could be some good info.
