Check the rough opening size, and then post plan.
-
Larry, what is so weird about your plan is I can do auto story pole dimensions for the front, left and rear elevations. I get the dimensions on both sides of house. However, on the right elevation I only get dimensions on the right side..... I can not explain it.
-
Go straight to x8.
-
Got it, thanks.
-
Not necessary to assign an elevation to contour lines if they were imported with the elevation data. Already assigned to contour lines.

Hi Joe, we are playing golf at the Vineyard at 12:30 today, are you interested?
-
Thanks for checking Larry, that is what I thought.

Here is the question, can you open the plan, take a camera view, and have the camera view use the GENERIC SUN<SUN FOLLOWS CAMERA. As it stands now, a camera view uses a USE SUN ANGLE. I would like to have some SUN ANGLES in plan, yet when I take a camera view, i would like the camera to default to use the GENERIC SUN<SUN FOLLOWS CAMERA. Is this possible? Thanks BBB DEFAULT USE GENERIC SUN.plan
-
I think maybe since I have some sun angles in the plan, the camera auto defaults to using one of those in lieu of the generic sun.
-
See my pic, this is what I have set right now, yet I still must set GENERIC SUN after I take camera view. Would it be possible for you to take a screen shot of the setting you and Joe are talking about?
-
Yes, I understand than, my question is how do I use a camera with that option already posted. So every time you use a camera and you want that option checked, you must check the option after you have already used the camera?
-
Now when I take an overhead camera view, the default is USE SUN ANGLE, how do I change the default to USE GENERIC SUN SUN FOLLOWS CAMERA? Thanks
-
I would advise you bite the bullet and learn how to build correctly.

........

Nope, it worked for me in imperial units... and Michael, I agree, essentially a useless feature for me too. I used it once and it was more trouble than simple drawing the walls.

Thanks for the post and plan.... not a great vid but there might be something you get out of it. https://youtu.be/leR0IIKVrPg

Isn't this the T-111? I know, no 3D, but that is solved with using bump maps I believe....... I think it is difficult to have a material get the 3d look.

CAD<POINTS<DELETE TEMPORARY POINTS

I have not figured out if I should turn off walls. If the DOORWAYS were usable, I would not need to turn off..... my goal is always to minimize minimize minimize the cad work. I am always thinking about revisions because they always come up. I should be able to build a model and for it to look correct in plan view WITHOUT CAD. I know, I was not clear answering your question because I do not have a good answer yet.
-
I appreciate you bringing it up, again I think my method has more advantages than yours, but neither is perfect, I wish CA would look into this and see how they would solve this issue. This does not come up often, but when it does, it would be swell if we had an idiot proof method of accomplishing what you and I are talking about.
-
Your method is on the left, my method on the right, I have fewer problems with the framing showing through and I have ben able to vary the opening sizes. Not trying to be a jerk, but trying to work with anybody to figure out best method to achieve the goal. I do have problems with the finish wrapping around opening if the window goes all the way to the porch floor, I have to hold it off floor by about 1" d d porch with pony reverse and arches dsh 1.plan

Clever approach, but is it Important whether the studs show?

Uncheck select room before wall in 3d
-
You still need to define a room. I think you should build a wall type the thickeess of your siding and define the MAIN LAYER ON THE INSIDE OF THE SIDING. the key is you still need to define a room with a wall, how you define the wall is up to you.

when you open by double clicking and you do not see anything, try hitting the attached button. I think the view is somewhere off the page.
