  1. I get 5 seconds into video and it stops. I am on a MAC.... that might be the issue.
  2. That is what I do. But if tab and I move it 12" left and 12" up, the radius is 3'-5", I would of thought it would be 12".
  3. It might be what I am looking for but the vid does not work.
  4. Thanks Joe, I get it now, again, I like using the tab tool to input the dimension... quicker for me.... remember I am the hot key king..... I can never find the stupid icons.
  5. Thanks Kevin, that helped. Yes I can do it that way. However I do prefer to set distance with the tab key.... but your method ain't half bad. BTW, if you spent less money buying golf balls for nit wits like me, you could invest the money in a video system with sound. Thx again.
  6. You have just drawn a rectangle. You want to fillet a corner, you activate the fillet tool, you start moving the corner in..... you hit the tab key because you want input the start of the beginning of the curve 12" from corner..... how do you do this? This is the dumbest most unintuitive method of defining the start of the curve for a fillet. CA, can't you re design the tab inputs? Seriously, I want to start the curve/fillet 12" from the corner, why can't I use the tab/input keys? Try it guys, it is dumb and useless, CA please fix this. I sent this into Brian as a request.
  7. If you learn to use ref sets, you can put grid lines on one level and they will show up on another level if you understand ref sets.
  8. Hey, I know I forgot some folks, sorry, too many helpers to keep track of. I would of included A.L. in the list, but he is only good for comedy relief.
  9. Thank you for the question DJP. Pretend I am Babe Ruth and I am pointing up to the top tier of the left field bleachers. I am about to knock this pitch over the stadium lights and onto 47th street. Imagine if some of these knuckleheads spent time researching answers to their own questions (I am included in the knucklehead category), this would not give The Great Glenn Woodward and others (P, JC, LH, BE, WW, J, JK, Michael, Mick, et al..... even Johnny) a chance to share their knowledge. Actually, I think the manual should be banned. We should burn the manual. More good info comes out of the discussions. And another thing, often times the manual is outdated, not clear and downright boring. Thank the heavens above for this great forum and all those selfless helpers who have helped me out in more ways than I can count. Hey CA..... burn the manual, thank you.

    3D Hvac !

That looks very nice. I believe that can be done in CA. I think it took more work than I believe you are letting on. Specifically some "shaped" ductwork..... easily done with psolids, but definitely takes a bit of work. Here is a question for you, the house is drawn.... how much time did it take you to put together that diagram......
  11. preclude.... errrr. I'm a hillbilly from south Tennessee....... anyway, close the views and the cameras will be gone.
  12. The camera views are probably open...... just a guess....
  13. My take on being a Beta Tester: Advantages: - I get the new version sooner.... once I get in the swing of it, I hate the previous version - I can influence the direction the developers are going.... - I will have to go thru the growing pains eventually, so the sooner I get through it the better Disadvantages: - The frustration of the bugs..... believe me I have felt like lobbing some 66 mm water balloons in the direction of Idaho more than once - Reading Joe Carricks requests, but I know he is a users best friend, he has contributed a lot in the improvement of the program - having to spend the time to log the bugs.... but Brian Beck does a great job in letting me know whether my bug report is legit of if it is my issue, much appreciated - in regards to the bugs, none has been so bad that I cannot use the program, I think this is due to James who is in charge of quality control, he is doing a great job (I think it is James) Bottom line, the more people who can help out with the BETA testing, the better for the future of the program and the better for the users, imagine if nobody did any BETA TESTING, it would be a disaster for us users down the line. So spending time with BETA testing is my way of helping out all of you users and somewhere down the road I think you guys will help me out with your knowledge and experiences. One final note, I have been using this program since 2005, and this is probably the best release yet...... maybe with the exception of X3 for my own reasons...... you guys will love the new stuff Idaho has come up with.
  14. Got it, good demonstration. So what is the solution? If you take a picture from with in a room, the lights in that room are used first... I think..... so if you have less than 8 lights in a room, all of those lights are turned on for a particular shot take in that room....... the other 64 lights in the other rooms are not used. I typically have a couple of user provided lights in each room to get enough light for my render...... please correct me if I am wrong.
  15. I do not think this is relevant since he is looking at a render and not a ray trace
  16. Yes, thank you, I changed the depth of shelves and not depth of cabinets.
  17. Add some lights to your room, this should change the look to reflect what you are after.
  18. I disagree Dermot. Attached is a picture of OOB upper cabs. The 3 upper cabs are exactly the same. Note the middle upper cabinet that shows some of the shelves popping thru. It look like the further away from the camera the cabinets are, the more likely the problem will arise. Now note the bottom cabinet. Same cabinet, should look like the upper cabinets with shelves popping thru, but I opened dbx and changed the depth of cabinets to 9" deep (not the default death of 11-1/4") and all is okay. I am sure your solution of changing the default doors from inset to paneled will work without changing the depth of the shelves.
  19. Bill, I agree with you, something is not behaving correctly or as I would of expected it to behave. Please send in a report.
  20. I am simply echoing what Mon Cherie and the rest have said.... fewer cad lines the better.
  21. Move your elevation region UNDER THE WALL BY ABOUT 3 inches, that should take care of irregularities.
  22. Good stuff P., but it would be nice if you started from the beginning to show how you set up the tool in your tool bar and how you reduced the size of the plant. I understand that you did this months ago and you have forgotten how to do it... this is something I face all the time when doing vids, but it would be helpful to those who do not know how to do it and I always take it as a challenge to go back and figure out how I did it initially.
