  1. If you ever figure it out, please let me know. I do not think it will work auto, it is wrong the way it is set up. If somebody disagrees with me, please set me straight.
  2. I have not had a chance yet to review Joe's method. I have not had a chance to review what Gerry is talking about. What I do know is that Joe and Gerry have probably come up with a way to get an area analysis of different "boxes". This is something I did several years ago but it was a lot of work and not reliable due to "arrows" disconnecting. What I think Gerry is saying is it is still a lot of work. I would rather not spend hours working this out with macros. CA should come up with a way to make area analysis of multiple boxes easy peasy. I understand that if the model is built correctly with the correct room labels, we may be able to get some sort of elementary area analysis. Note that I said elementary, I need something more than elementary. I do not understand why this should be such a mystery to understand and then to come up with a solution. I need to be a able to draw multiple boxes such that the area of these boxes can be inputted into a multitude of mathematical equations. As I have said before, I have a word processing program and a spread sheet program where I can come up with multiple values of the program using the different "cells". I do not need to create macros. Thank you Gerry and Joe for keeping this request alive. Hopefully with X9, this will be a possibility. If CA does not understand the request, they can give me a call to explain what I am looking for.
  3. I would bet the best solution would be 2 doors, one above the other, block them if you want.... just a guess, I have not tried to confirm.
  4. You are new, we forgive you, you should always post your plan to get a QUICK ACCURATE ANSWER. DJP's answer is useless, if I were to guess, you have defined your walls incorrectly. If your time is valuable, post the plan and you will get an accurate answer within minutes.
  5. Good topic. I have noticed this is less of an issue of late. And I would bet if you zoom in or out or turned the angle a bit, the problem may go away. IOW, it seems much better than it has been in the past.
  6. I sent mine to Wendy. She paid me 356.99 for it. Very very valuable commodity.
  7. Nuts, I thought it was Mon Cherie who was calling me sweetie......
  8. Sorry, I was not clear. Open in mac, edit, close. Now open in pc, edit and close. open in mac, edit and close. No problems.
  9. Just do it, no problems, do not overthink. I have gone back and forth with no problems.
  10. I hear what you are saying. I do export one view at a time. This has worked for me, but I hear you. However, I think for a structural engineer, he only needs your framing and foundation plans. I think you can export all FLOORS/LEVELS in one fell swoop. I think...... I just tried to export/import several layers/floors in one fell swoop..... I was unsucessful. I bet there will be someone who will explain how to do what you want to do very soon. If nobody explains how to do it, it should not take too long. Export maybe 3 layers for a two story, you should be able to do that in 90 seconds.
  11. So so true. Immediate support for any issues is well worth the 500.00 cost of SSA. If you don't use it, it is even more valuable. Oh...... Mon Cherie, how are you?
  12. Oh, my bad, I did not realize this was the sneak a peak thread. Apologies to CA.
  13. I'm not sure what this has to do with stairs.
  14. Lol, yea, about 10 inches taller and probably 130 lbs. more....... Errrrrr, maybe only 110 lbs. more, Hence the Fitbit I got for Xmas.
  15. Hey Joe, if you want, you can do a prelim test with me. Maybe I can provide a few constructive critiques before the big launch. Joe, this will be huge if you get it right. I think you know what I am looking for, but a guinne pig such as myself might be a good test for your macro. BTW, I do not know how to spell guinne....... I went to the Perry School of Spelling.
  16. That my friend will make CARRICKS'S MACRO OF THE MONTH invaluable, thank you thank you thank you.
  17. ditto, both systems work well, switching from pc to mac was a little rough in the beginning, but I would not go back. However, the pc worked very well.
  18. Thanks for the update Facer. BTW, do you know if he travels with a GOPRO? I would like to track him in real time. Thanks.
  19. Well ain't this your lucky day....
  20. I think I did the video, the great Glenn Woodward had the idea, I don't know where vid is.
  21. You know Lew, there have been several features that you have requested that have eventually been implemented and I would like to thank you for that. Now when it comes to your suggestion to lock floors..... I ain't so keen on that one..... but others have paid off hansomly.
  22. I think early part of January..... that is what my wife said.... we might want to check with CA but Lynn is rarely wrong.
