  1. Did you frame the wall yet ? See step #7
  2. Yes I know the feeling. It is difficult enough to figure out how to build something just the way the client wants it to look and meet all the code requirements let alone a software program telling you it can't be done that way. If you can get the room divider to behave by setting it's location with a dimension that would likely be the path of least resistance and give you auto ceiling planes etc.
  3. How did the wall get to be 9' 2" if the default room height is 97 1/8" ? The roof uses the room height not the wall height.
  4. You many need to post the plan file then. Not really making sense. Is this in X10 ?
  5. Use "Edit All Roof Planes".... You can't change the default for existing roof planes.

    Mystery

Yes please post the plan. I recently had that happen in an X13 build and could not isolate the issue. However I shortened the beam with the intention of patching in a p-solid to fix it but then noticed it was ok when I re-extended it. Not sure what the problem was though and would love to know.
  7. Terrain> Terrain Specifications> General> Subfloor Height Above Terrain:
  8. Post the plan or use a copy of the sub fascia and edit it for the fascia. Fortunately they fixed the issue caused me to do that, so now I don't have to do that on almost every job any more.
  9. I suppose you could argue that tearing a hole in the gable end wall is the program's attempt to "join together to form a single integrated system" However I think the intent of the tool is to provide two completely viable options to the situation, not to fix a glitch.
  10. I would say according to the Manual it would be a workaround but being from Canada I have been accuses of not understanding English before. "Specify the Roof Group of the selected room. Change this value to control how the program combines the selected room’s roof system with that of the rest of the building when automatic roofs are built."
  11. I have not noticed that exact situation before but chief does struggle with a roof over another roof in many other ways. You may have found the magic number that needs to be brought to chiefs attention but would be really interested in what others have to say. Roof groups will fix it but I really don't think that should be necessary.
  12. You may be able to get it working if you import as "# Y X Z Description ( comma delimited )" but did not try to be able to confirm.
  13. No problem having someone else do cad details or site plans to help out with an older version.
  14. You could have another person do cad work or start a file in an older version and then pass it on to you but there is no going back.
  15. No but there are lots of people that are still using X12 or have an installed copy of it.
  16. Technically yes it should be the same file as the last one in the X12 Archive but maybe not. I could be a few hours or a day fresher.
  17. Sorry I guess it goes to the end of the list depending on your sort order. The backup in this situation is the one with the "2994" added to the end of the file name. No idea what that means though.
  18. I think it should be the first file listed for that for folder with the date of migration added to the end of the file name.
  19. Sorry I miss read Joey's post earlier and thought that he mentioned this but he did not. There is automatically an X12 version of your file placed in the X13 Archive folder when you bring a plan forward and save it in X13.
  20. See if this helps: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00091/restoring-chief-architect-content.html
  21. You may be able to use a third party conversion to do just that but Chief will not do it on it's own.
