  1. This is about what standard view looks like in the current plan file.
  2. Someone had the lighting all jacked up in the file and there are custom materials missing from the file. Also there really is not much color now that you have decided not to have a roof. Do you have a layout template or just plot out on blank paper ?
  3. Did you slooth that from the plan file ? No need to say how here but the file did not look quite right to me at first glance. @MorganW You may want to take the money that your guy in Ukraine is asking for and invest it with Chief Architect and teach that guy a lesson on how business if done.
  4. The file was started in X12 and completed in X13 so you need a copy of X13 to open and edit it or possibly open and edit parts of the file in HD 2022. The file opens on my system and looks ok. I guess it is time to upgrade.
  5. It would also be nice to know if there is a way to save the newly edited Cad Detail without closing the window and getting the pop up that asks.
  6. If you zip and post the plan file I can tell you what version it was written in or you can open the file yourself in notepad and take a look. Unfortunately plan files are not backwards compatible and a competent user should have made you aware of that.
  7. Did you try editing the layer in Plan View ?
  8. Nice work for day one ! You will need to decide on an interior ceiling height that works for the windows and roof. Set that in the room DBX ( Dialogue Box ).
  9. There are others that could explain better but %room.height.ceiling% is a "Global" macro which is not parsed by Ruby. It works fine for what it does but there is no way to manipulate that data that I am aware of. A lot but unfortunately not all of those "Global" macros are also "Ruby" name value pairs that can be looked up and put to good use and formatted the way you need them or used to calculate other values that are not directly available.
  10. I meant the window not you. Sometimes just putting something into memory or even the library seems to have a healing effect.
  11. You may need to fiddle with the open below room def a bit. Take a look in vector view to see if there are any other clues. Or you can always post the plan.
  12. Oops.... Maybe CTRL + Z then... What did you do differently with the good ones originally ?
  13. Maybe try CTRL + X and CTRL + ALT + V and see if a quick trip to the hospital helps.
  14. Ok then that is interesting. It looks like they have upgraded to Qt 5.15.1 It maybe does very well with straight forward vector layouts like your particular example but not as well as previous versions with images. Thanks for posting.
  15. What is your secret David ? It does not seem anyone else is getting results like that. I just printed 1 page with the "Chief Architect Save As PDF" set to 600 dpi. and it came out at 6,868KB. The page contained only two image files.
  16. Very much a known issue. I just wish it was not. I usually print at 600 dpi and thought I could reduce the file size by going to 300 dpi. Nope the file size actually went up. Go figure. Hoping it will be a priority fix for X14.
  17. Way to go Shane ! Good thing paper comes in rolls.
  18. They definitely did that in the wrong sequence. How do they jack that up to move it now ? It would have been cheaper to rent a 60 ton crane to hold a concrete slab over the building. It would give the same effect.
  19. I think Chief has the same sort of issues. It is almost like it picks up a partial pixel rather than a sampling of 6 or 8. Curious if anyone who has a calibrated screen can get it to work consistently in any sort of an accurate way ?
  20. By my eye this would be a bit closer but I usually need to make a few adjustments after using the eye dropper.
  21. Yes the walkway in front of the stores will be a room that is set to something like 84" with an open below room above above that is only a foot or so high.
  22. Maybe try disconnecting from the internet just in case that is messed up.
  23. I think you will actually need to do what I originally suggested and not use a doorway and use a 2nd level to define the top of the doorway and a room divider to create the opening.
  24. I think it is the right side of the doorway over the sidewalk that is presenting the issue. I suppose if you were to square the wall on the main structure it would work.... Is that what you were getting at ?
