Pretty sure TS is quite aware of the situation. Perhaps they are no longer interested though ? It happens as soon as your terrain perimeter is wider than your structure or in Scott's case any rogue or intentionally placed object that is beyond the outer walls of the build. It is just that it is much more obvious when you go international with your plan file.

Also your color fills are getting broken up with white lines. I thought that did not happen to Mac users.. It might be good to report that one again.

So you have about a 3' offset ? Let us know how the trip to Tokyo goes......

Was your second monitor a different resolution than the one you are using now ?

Or break the symbol into two parts and have a flush mounted base and then a ceiling mounted fixture and chain, or cord in the case of the OP. Some day they will be smarter and sense gravity in order to pivot at the flex point.

Could you do without a defined room for your two sided railing ? That seems to help quite a bit but still some misalignment on the front and back walls for some reason.

If you decide you want both and anything else that chief has not yet provided for us, just let me know.

Very nice Rob. I do it very much the same way. Just one little clarification though, Chief's piers do have a footing option it is just that the options available are not used by anyone in my area any more that I am aware of and I am not sure there is any sort of a default for them.

Here it is:

Did you test that Ryan ? It seems to have a fairly detrimental effect. I think I have edited one and copied it around to the other locations before but I think I remember a discussion with Dermot about this one time but can't seem to remember what the solution was.

Yes it is the site plan or specifically the width of the terrain perimeter that is causing the issue. You could do your site plan in another plan file or if all you require in that respect is 2D then do it in a CAD detail. Most importantly let Chief Architect know how you feel, as they love hearing from new users. Then they may fix it for the rest of us.
-
I think the issue is a little better than it originally was but it can still be a problem. The overall width of the plan is a factor. You may have a very large terrain perimeter or even a rogue object that has wandered off to the side of your plan file somewhere that will throw off the camera. Also check to see if your plan is oriented somewhere close to the point of origin on the grid. Generally it is best to quote the important threads you have referenced so others can take a look if necessary and it also helps when staff are looking at the forum. If you have any issues figuring it out post the plan file and one of the experts might be willing to have a look.

That helps but as soon as I create a room I loose the Rap but can achieve two Winders for some reason. Too bad you can't edit stair treads like decking boards. That would solve the problem pretty quick.
-
I think you may also need to offer a reward. It seems you need not just a wall but room definition as well but then you also get other surprises as one might expect.

I think Ryan is correct but not sure of the details ? @rgardner

Custom Countertop Height Setting and thickness Issue
Chopsaw replied to Kbird1's topic in General Q & A
That might be the issue right there Mick. That may fit Dermot's criteria. Technically it may be a "Base" depending on how the core programming sees it. Kind of like a roof over another roof and the software does not know what to do. -
Sorry I though the total in the schedule was your objective but it seems that is only the beginning. You will need to query all the windows with a macro and then add up the area of the ones that meet your criteria but that gets rather involved to go that far, especially if that is only the beginning of what you are needing to accomplish.
-
Did you try "Include in Schedule As:" ? Schedules are pretty versatile now and getting better all the time. That also allows you to use your own macro in an OIP field depending on exactly what you are calculating.

It looks like you Preferences setting was changed somehow. Select "Dropdown" rather than "Child Tool Palette".

What is the best way to import site data from my surveyor?
Chopsaw replied to binkpear's topic in General Q & A
You can use the "Import Terrain Data" feature with any of the listed formatting options. However you will need to be careful to make any adjustments of items that the surveyor measured that are not at grade level. You can then overlay the .dwg file or just connect the elevation points with plot lines if they include the corner points. -
The short answer would be No. However there are plenty of other things to consider. Such as there are still plenty of people that are taller and wider than you are. Also the classification of the building and the use of the room need to be considered as well as anything that will ever go though that door for any purpose.

Something like this perhaps ? Two panel or two slab garage door... It just does not display in the open position correctly just like a regular garage door also does not.
