  1. Yes that is the solution but if you have another door that is large enough for a vehicle you still have CO and fire issues to address.
  2. Open the symbol from the library and in the 3D tab of Symbol Specifications > Faces, It will give you the face count. This can sometimes depending on the object be adjusted by the Smoothing Angle during creation or recreation.
  3. You could likely do it in plan or layout but plan sounds like the best option to me. Could not make the wall hatch tool work for footings or mono slab Scott is there a trick to that ? Wha5 is up wi5h your k3yboard ?
  4. Yes that is a little bland. You could manually add a colored fill pattern by drawing a polyline solid with a couple of polyline solid holes and then convert to plain polyline when you are done.
  5. If you are making a manual legend you can Insert the electrical cad blocks from CAD Block Management. However if you are using one of the more recent versions you can add the 2D Symbol to the Electrical Schedule as a column. There is also a Electrical Legend in the Library as a cad block that you can edit.
  6. Great, thanks. Please keep us informed.
  7. That is a very good example that should get the attention of tech support and maybe even provide the information they need to fix the problem. Please be sure they get a copy of the plan file. I have not seen anything that extreme since X8.
  8. Tech support should be able to provide a replacement file or maybe even a library update would rebuild it. However I see one custom one there so I might be good to look for them on a backup.
  9. Yes I believe your SSA needs to be active for this to work. Are you intending to finish the trees and terrain ? If so I could make you a self contained 3D PDF for your presentation. Send me a PM if your interested. House looks great by the way.
  10. Not quite sure why Eric and Joe are not seeing the issue when they open the plan file in X9 but it is displayed exactly as posted for me however I am not sure what is causing the problem without completely going through the plan file. I was however able to patch the problem by making the attic wall in that location a pony wall so it would display both of the siding and gable shake materials and displace the regular wall from filling in that region.
  11. Did you provide Chief Architect with your email address when you signed up ?
  12. Hi Doug, You have a very interesting condition going on with your plan file and for some reason you have some interior rooms set to "Use Soffit Surface for Ceiling". This is causing the bottoms of your roof rafters to be shaved or trimmed off at the soffit level. Hope that gets you back on track.
  13. Very Nice Yusuf. I think I will watch that one more time at 1/8 speed and I will be an expert by tomorrow.
  14. Yes I recently had that happen with roof purlins but fortunately the purlins were taken off the design before I had to show the drawings to anyone. I was thinking it would be a lot of work to make a cad detail from view and fix all of that. Did not send it in as chief does not support roof purlins yet, but if it is happening to trusses then maybe they can fix it all so it is not an embarrassing mess.
  15. You would have to use or make a Symbol for that purpose. There is a basic Louver Pane in the Core Catalog that might work. Do you have a picture of what you are after ?
  16. Unfortunately that is not an option in Chief Architect yet. It would be best done in a photo editor and imported. If you are in a pinch you could maybe use the new X10 watermark feature but it is not designed for that purpose and you would have to export and then re import.
  17. Yes as with lots of other aspects of the software that could be much more clearly defined. I think that is the same action that takes place during the update that happens when you print and it is not a complete update as it suggests. I believe the only exception is the one you have found for sections and elevations.
  18. Scott, I think it is supposed to work that way and is not specifically a Mac issue. You just created an extreme example but it has always been that way as far as I know unless you are set to "Always Update" and then maybe there is an issue.
  19. That would be much appreciated. Thank You. Hover mouse over heart and slide over to green arrow and click.
  20. If you remove the end wall truss above it will frame. Not sure if there was a reason to have it there or why that side of the building is framed differently than the other. I usually build the walls first and don't seem to run into that issue.
  21. This is a known issue but please be sure to contact tec support as you may be able to provide the information they need to fix it.
  22. Is "Retain Wall Framing" selected ? -First thing to check before looking at plan file.
  23. The only time that has happened to me is if I move the file location or change the name.
