There are really three ways this can work. You can turn them all off as Dermot suggested or you can turn them off individually for each layout box by suppressing the label, or you can leave them all turned on and use some when you like and just move the others beyond the border of your layout. This has the advantage of providing some information in your view that can keep you organized but not show in your printed drawings.

For the flooring patterns ? I don't see why you could not bring in a properly scaled image and overlay it on there but not sure chief will make that an automatic option any time soon, but for the right presentation it would look pretty cool.

No I don't think so but I have seen some neat stuff done with an Orthographic top view if that is what you are getting at. Unless you wanted to do something really special and import image files into plan view.

The symbol idea was just something you could throw into a new plan file and create an illustration from and maybe send to layout. There may in fact be another way but I am still not exactly sure from your screen shot and description exactly what you need to do. You could wait for a response from someone who has done this for their building department and understands exactly what you need or post your plan file and maybe someone who understands the software well can help you figure out a solution.

Yes I think Glenn is correct and Nvidia has that ability to add ambient occlusion to games so they are more realistic but Chief has developed it's own Ambient Occlusion that does not rely on Nvidia or any number of other video card manufactures.

That sounds like a slightly different problem from the original posting but you could give the Edit Wall Layer Intersections tool a try.

Yes I made the E6 camera Plan Display Placement as "Both Sides" and broke and staggered the line with the #3 key. It is just behind your original E5 camera callout on the screen shot.

It is a little confusing if you have multiple views open or a multi monitor setup but the camera remains visible if the view is open.

No not a typo. I read the update notes and I am not experiencing any of those issues and forum users are reporting new issues that I just don't want to deal with right now. I don't like to lag behind but sometimes it can be helpful.

Try just using a psoild drawn in elevation view and set your camera to the skewed angle before you start. Or make a symbol of your entire model and rotate the symbol and cut it on the set angle with the Cross Section Slider. I don't fully understand the issue but maybe that gives you a couple more options.

Sounds like you should give tech support a call and see if they know anything. Is it all the settings or just some of them?

Larry are you going through a complete print cycle or just print preview ?

Yes, cross section on the red line "E6" it makes a bit of a mess of the roof but shows all the bedrooms with the kitchen if that is what you were after.

The house is not the same so it won't be exact but you could break the section to get one something like this.

Crop in layout with the layout box or a cad mask.

Some people will say never to paint a wall because it will eventually catch you some time and cause a problem like you have run into. The important thing is to know how to fix it if and when it happens. You can change the material back to the default ( first on the list in plan Materials ) or ( check box at the bottom of the DBX in Library Materials ) and then it should reset and do what you want.

Usually best not to insert your own text into a quote unless you change the text color which can be useful in specific situations. Like if someone was to try to answer all of your original questions at once they could insert the answers in red after each question. Plan Defaults is where you need to go and you can get to Walls > Interior Wall > Wall Covering and then Wall Type > Define > Wall Type Definitions and then select one of your Drywall Layers and double click to get to Plan Materials and edit the General Material color of the Drywall if you don't like the builders beige. This seems to work better than adding a layer because that can cause other issues.

If you are referring to the horizontal band that runs through the shower controls then that is most likely a wall covering.

It won't be exactly like that but you should be able to work something out that would be acceptable with a Wall Detail and Framing Schedule.

That would sure add a lot to the software if they were on separate layers. Lots of possibilities with those options. Just like the new header labels for windows and doors.

You can toggle between them in the DBX but you need to toggle both controls. You can show the label and manually add a callout. Or you can put the Number value into your label if you don't need it to look like a callout, using the %schedule_number% macro.

It appears to still be working on build 20.2.2.3. However the Print Range settings seemed to be a bit sticky on a previous job but once you complete a full print cycle they will stick the majority of the time.

Just went to check my version and it decided to update, still working fine. Google Chrome is up to date Version 66.0.3359.170 (Official Build) (64-bit)
