  1. Put the post and beam on the other side to support the roof and railing on gable walls and that should solve your problem. Just make the same way you would build this in reality.
  2. I am definitely interested Scott. I also agree that Mikes Macro's are very reasonable and so is Joe's. I also purchased Macro's from both and Mike's area calculation macro is awesome, altho I use it rarely, it is a big help when you do need them. Not to mention it's always nice to support them and everything they do to help out the community.
  3. GE Monogram Model #ZV850SB 36" you can find it on 3D warehouse, there are many more 36" models there like 36" Pro-Style Low Profile by Whirlpool which is getting very popular around here, Model #JXU9136WP.
  4. Nice job Mike! It looks good, glad to be of help.
  5. The plugin is by Christina Eneroth called Material Extractor it's free as most plugins in sketchup. I use gimp to make seamless textures its very simple to make them and Gimp has a tile tool to see how it will look when applied to a large surface.
  6. I open the skm with sketchup> apply texture to surface>Screen capture> make texture seamless and export as JPG or whatever and import to CA as material. You can make a collection of textures you use all the time. Here is an example I grabbed one .skm file BaltimoreWall_ChamplainGrey1 from that site and made a texture, added pattern to it and here it is. BaltimoreWall_ChamplainGrey1.calibz
  7. Anytime Jere, glad to be of help!
  8. Cut the railing before the landing and continue, I think that would solve your problem.
  9. My pleasure Ken, anytime and same to you!
  10. It's time consuming but it gives a clean appearance when you display it
  11. I been making half walls out of interior wall, making psolid cap and matching stair incline and making a railing following the stairs and making a symbol and putting everything together.
  12. Its called Lattice Creator...and there is another one called Lattice-izer this one is good to make custom lattice, custom railing panels, etc.
  13. Here is another one with slats on the angle. Lattice Vertical Slats.calibz
  14. Here is one I made a while back, 4'x8', 1 1/2" thick 1 1/2" opening. If you need I can reduce it to 3/4 thick or make you any size you want... I have a lattice plugin tool. Lattice.calibz
  15. Did anyone encounter this. Wall snap to the wall and they will not break away until about 3'10-3'11 away from it. Or if I make a slight adjustment to the stairs it will snap to a wall across the hallway that is 36" away from the stairs? It does that even with snaps unchecked Did I select something in settings by mistake to cause this type of behavior?
  16. Thanks guys, I didn't know that (never had a need to do that) I thought it can be done, mixed up with other software, I guess opening another plan like others suggested would be the way to go and switch between the two.
  17. Put new terrain on its own layer and you can flip between them
  18. Hi guys, I was reading this post and I never checked this settings, been using what ever it was out of the box. So now I looked at it since Joey mentioned print sheet set up and this is my advanced options which are unchecked and it set to "mm" and I don't have anything set to metric is this normal? If not what setting should I have there and if I have to do the change someplace else like in defaults or layout? Thanks! Appreciate the help.
  19. You don't usually do crown that way. 99% of the time when a taller cabinet is used that cabinet will be 15" deep so the crown can die right into it. Even with inset doors, the crown will not work most of the time because the cabinet frame reveal is only 1 1/2 - 2" max .
  20. 3D warehouse has a huge Simpson hanger collection made by Simpson manufacturer.
  21. If you saved the plan and you still have the plan open in CA it will not upload.
  22. You can also create a line style with CRWN text to indicate what that is using smallest dash line settings.
