Did you try the Auto Floating Dormer Tool ? or just the Auto Dormer Tool ?

I had a quick play and although it shows the Jamb as spec'd in the DBX in plan view I noticed in 3D it is still a single 12" wide jamb , rather than what I am assuming will be a 6" jamb and 3" ext. jambs each side. quick and dirty solution would be , choose "swings both ways" and the Door will move to centre , you can then hide the double swing with a cad box with the fill and line type set to the background color. Though I am uncertain why you would want the door setup like that ITRW , as it will only open 90° ,as it will hit the wall , and it would also make the opening narrower , as it wont swing out of the way , which maybe important in an ADA setting?

Yes Alan , Joe's Right Click on the desktop Icon> Open works too, but for me the 2nd instance opened behind the X7 already running this time but you can see it on the Taskbar that there are two Chief Icons ,so you can bring it to the front, move to 2nd screen etc.

I just tried it and had to dbl click the desktop icon a second time to get it to start , nothing happened 1st time around ...maybe I wasn't patient enough?, but it starts directly on top of the 1st instance so perhaps you missed that if at full screen like I was ? M.

Alan ,you have to hold down the CTRL Key when you try to start the 2nd instance of Chief to get past that error message. M.

Time to start your own Channel on Youtube too I like the SnagIt Video's too, good resolution etc so you can see what is going on , it helps that you move the mouse at real world speed not at Warp plus the speed of sound too Thanks again. M.

I got it setup thanks Perry , the sequential numbering had me fooled till I realised you need to change the label ( from new note) as you place them, so the next one places with the next no#. I copied the Dutch Hyacinth to my User Library and renamed it PLAN NOTE And I learnt there is a Place Default Item from Library Button which is now assigned to the PLAN NOTE made above. Looks like you zipped that plan while it was open P. it is an empty zipfile Thanks again. M.

it sounds like the "show drawing Sheet" checkbox is off by default in X7 but on in X6 perhaps? you didn't attach your image above , so just a guess.

Even though both were open Bob if you had the Plan as Chief's focus window not the Layout , it would not have backed up the Layouts if I understand Doug's comment correctly since the Plan is not aware of the Layout File. It would not mean the layouts still aren't there they just aren't on Dropbox... M

Tools>Layer Sets>Display Options ,scroll down to Walls or hit W on keyboard

Hi Ray , thanks again , actually the X6 Library appears fine , I closed X7 and reopened etc just to be sure , and the x7 export libraries both have issues but the Arial X6 one is fine per your Pic of the house earlier , perhaps delete the X7 libraries from that post and leave the X6 library on the thread , and if you wouldn't mind refreshing the non arial library from X6 too that would be great thanks , appreciate your time. As noted I just heard this tip 1 hr ago , so have not tried it yet , to see if it works as expected , I was planning on doing a Forum search about it to get more info actually. M.

Schedules are also "live" Gerry so should be less work than the "Word" method , I had not seen this "reuse" of the Plant Schedule tip before ,so I am going to try it too.

Hi Ray , looks like the export didn't work correctly are you in X7beta ? , maybe a setting on my end though? quite a few of both libraries have the text part in a vertical orientation rather than horizontal so it is hidden behind the pitch triangle

I discovered the one on the outside of the Octagon is actually a tiny wall divider/invisible wall , about 9/16 x 2/12" , delete that by zooming in real close and the wall heels itself. The other one on the right just needed to be pulled back and resnapped to go away. M.

My guess is they go by the anniversary date though not when you actually Paid up since you said you are good till Feb 2016 now

Ok, get a copy of the X6 file install file if you want to archive it as it is removed from your Locker once you click upgrade. I have seen it posted as Mar 5th , Mar15th and Mar 20th for full X7 release , so I am guessing they are still making "changes "

I guess you just updated SSA? people with (current) SSA that expired before Mar 15th were not eligible for the Beta , there is another long post back about Jan 20th when the Beta came out about it and many users were blocked causing a few problems. M.

We do it the same way here Ray , had not thought to block and add to the library ..Duh ! perhaps you wouldn't mind exporting your Roof Pitch library and posting it so Sherry and I don't need to reinvent the wheel , thanks. M.

mine wasn't ,doesn't sound like you locker has updated properly , though the Full version is supposed to be out on the 5th March, Thursday I think.
