I saw this recently , if you draw exterior walls on the 2nd floor over the lower walls of the Family room , it will give you room definition in that L shaped area , which you can then define as ATTIC space and the Roof will then build off the 1st floor wall plates which it isn't doing right now , not sure why... perhaps someone else can explain it?

Nice catch Glenn , that is funny actually , I noticed something weird on the 45deg. walls in the front entry but thought either my eyes had had enough for the day or Chief was once again proving it doesn't like angled lines , so I decided I'd had enough for the Day , zooming in I can see all the "squiggles" in the fill. swapping both the MGO walls to a solid yellow fill does fix it as noted....

I didn't play with it my self much yest. the porch has no ceiling structure (eg 2x6) and I was surprised to see the floor structure includes 22" TJI's .. , I was think just use a Custon Ceiling plan actually. M.

Good tip Tommy Context.....to place a CAD Block in your Plan from the CAD Management Tool , find the one you want on the list and click the insert button , and you can then drop it ,with a click onto your plan page.

yep , sounds like you tried to open the zip with Chief ? , unzip it to an empty folder or your desktop and then open the .plan.

Yep I found the same issues as Glenn , though I see 24" wide stem walls on the house and I think your footing width and height are backwards, unless you need ground beams? at least here a footing would be 24" wide and 12" tall not the other way around. normal here I doctored your Beadboard will I was at it and added the pony walls with the Wall's pony wall checkbox...brick is default BTW. there is something in your plan that is making Chief crawl speed wise , not sure if you have a bad symbol or what? , for a 5mb plan it is very slow....even in 2D Genesis_Front Porch Test_R1.plan

likely you haven't set your Foundation Default's up correctly before building the foundation.... i'll have a quick look at the plan.

my guess is your exterior and interior wall layers are not 1/16th , so change those as needed eg to 1/2" beadboard and 1/2" Drywall or ???? once you have the beadboard on the wall , use/click the Define Material Tool (aka the Rainbow Tool) ( see Pic) and click on your exterior Wall , and in the resulting DBX click on the material color and choose another , or use the eyedropper tool in the color window at bottom left, to get the color of another window/website or whatever you like.Then on the Texture Tab select "Blend with Texture" box. and hit ok To save it for the future, go into the Wall's DBX>material tab>exterior wall>select material ,find the BBoard in the list and on the right add it to your library. M.

those kinds of symbols need a wall to let them insert , instead use Chief's Plan Notes and legends in the CAD Block Library , you can unblock them and edit if needed.

great , same videocard on both computers ? tell him to never rely on M$ for driver updates ,go straight to Device Manufacturer everytime for vid. ,sound, network,wifi etc , esp. with Notebooks , a lot of Laptop Manf. never update there websites either once Comp has gone to market. M.

nice I get it right and Perry gets the Best Answer what do you mean you can't adjust ? move out from building? , add extra dim points as needed? cos I can do that no issue with the edit handles , at least on my test plan just now , and it how I remembering it working , I usually have it one as you only get to use the Button ONCE

looks like you played with the ceiling structure on the 1st floor ? you have a non default ceilings at 11 1/4 " in most Rooms , I set those back to default after setting the stairwell as a bedroom ,temporarily, instead of open below and it seems to have sorted itself out and I can now access all the floor structure heights etc in the DBX's. *** I may have played with another setting before doing this so YMMV

it's called your finger don't click on Auto Dims Icon Twice .... try turning on Auto refresh for your old setup instead

Damn he might be right looking at the plan view I see a footing line..... **note to self check all images posted...

and use the Edit>Delete>Delete Objects DBX to get them all in one go.... do you have Auto refresh on for Ext.Dims?

or you have a brick ledge set in the Wall DBX?

Try updating the video drivers
