hi Steve , for me at least the quickest way is to simply draw your own slab , as large as needed and then setting the slab's elevation at the same height as the Room's Floor ie -4 " in this case ,and then use the Slab footing Tool or Foundation Wall tool to draw your own foundation underneath it. In the Room DBX that the Slab footing creates turn off /uncheck the floor and the Roof/ceiling options on the Structure Tab and you should get this : your plan with the alterations: Porches and Porch Slab_MH.plan M.

Larry, curious if your loop happens if " same height walls" isn't checked in the Build Roof DBX (I assume auto rebuild is on?) I too have run into weird issues like this, so I always do plenty of save as plans as I go , and step back if needed, but am definitely wondering what's going on since ,what if for example you want to change the kitchen/family room in a 1storey to be 10' and leave the rest 8',when Client changes their mind? Not going to work well ,if I am reading Joe right. M.

Just to be clear you can also add Slab footings as needed manually if needed(slab footing tool, see ref.manual) , though I didn't need them above, I did add the garage foundation stem walls manually since nothing I did would bring them back. I then deleted the internal stem walls and footings and added a footing to those walls only via the wall's DBX. that is more or less automatic once you have the Carport and rear Porch setup for Monoslabs , I have played some more and the only way to get it all was to do stuff manually . like the footing only walls around the kitchen and the foundation wall under the carport and front entry... it seems the Chamfer on foundations only works on Monoslabs not footings too, so you would have to fix that in section views, unless someone else knows how to get it to work. here is the updated plan , I have saved cameras for you to open and look at , for eg. camera 10 shows some weird stuff around the rear porch walls , but I have never seen that effect before ...didn't think a slope topped wall was possible actually.... I setup a layerset (camera view-no walls) so you can see just the foundation and floor slab only so it's easier to see what's going on....not sure why the laundry wall footing doesn't show in some views but it is there in the Cross sections. Uncheck Auto height in the Terrain Specs. DBX , then you can set the height yourself. do a SAVE AS of the .plan file and then delete things like fixtures and furniture ,cabinets, etc ---- eg interior stuff nobody needs to see for this issue. 3D plants and Trees also ad mb to the plan and aren't needed for terrain issues. Andrew Dale the owner of the 3D website got back to me and has fixed the fixed site above Hi Mick, Thanks for letting me know, much appreciated. This is the second time in the last 2 weeks someone has placed re-directs on the .html pages. I have cleaned all the pages so the site is back to normal. have not had this issue my self , just crashes while in the Lib. but it might be best to call TS , the files are probably still there and need to be relinked or something , but they should also be aware of this issue......

you have opened an Archive Copy of the plan as Lew and Graeme said , So do a Save As to you Normal Yemma Project Folder as Yemma Plan.plan and it then should let you save as normal . I don't think CA will allow you to overwrite an Archive File , and SOP should be to do a Save As immediately if you need to Open an Archive File at anytime so you still have the Archive unchanged if you need it again. yes Airgap or Open-No Material works, though O.N.M is better I think , it can be used the other way around too , ie to force post off the deck in fascia mount situations too.

you can't boot on a new motherboard , with the old install of Win7 , at least YMMV as Win7 will need to install new drivers and possibly fail. Just download the Win7 ISO for your version and use the current CD KEY you have..... if activation fails, phone in and explain you had a computer crash and just installed on a new motherboard and HD, ie you only have 1 install on that CD key. Don't forget to backup all your files to an external 1st. or even the new HD when it arrives 1st. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-recovery

just confirming what Alan sees , no black here on another Nvidia Card either... Try turning off options one by one in the Prefs. Render Tab and see what happens Shadows, MSAA etc that should pinpoint the Cause hopefully. Also Make sure you check direct with ATI for Drivers , don't assume Microsoft Update or the Manufacturer of you Comp. ( HP) has the latest on their Site , saw a similar issue a few weeks ago and it was solved by a Driver from the ATI Site.

A 250GB SSD for the os and programs You already have the os on your old comp. Use it if retiring old comp. Win 10 is free next week. Some will suggest more ram and perhaps the 970 or 980 video card too. Have the 970 myself ,and wish CA took more advantage of it but I hope that changes in newer versions of CA.

plans wont attach if they are open in Chief when you try to attach them as Chief locks the file when it opens it.

perhaps the wrong icon (blue not red) or the Hotkey is setup incorrectly ..........same thing if you use the File>Save menu?

with doors don't turn off interior casing , as it also effects the Frame for some reason , eg around garage doors.

Not sure I exactly understand what you want to do ,but you seem to have it setup right you just haven't pulled the roof plane back to the Handrails to expose the decking..... , you do need to turn the floor back on in each Balconey Room to show the decking too. 1 balcony also had a p-solid in it, I had to drag to the side , perhaps used as the floor but hidden under the roof plane too

I think I have seen posts on Older ATI Cards having issues with Shadows .....don't quote me but I think the suggestion was to turn off Legacy Shadows. Hopefully Perry will see you post today , I think it was him I saw post about this.... M.

Thanks Facer , isn't the Tree fern on the right already in the Chief Library? it looks familiar... also the Site above is not working properly with IE11 (no scrollbars), and it also redirected me to a PC Support page/Chat the 1st time I tried going to the Site , , I have emailed them to let them know... from you description of the exterior Room , it sounds like you may have a broken wall connection somewhere , check each level..... for weird stuff like this , it is always better to post the plan so others can look at it for you... M.
