  1. you're Welcome , try the compatibility settings , see if that helps your dimension issues perhaps ....
  2. have you turned line weights on by accident ? either there ot with the Icon , usually on the RH side Taskbar? all these issues maybe due to using X5 in Win10 ? not sure if you can run chief in Win7 compatibility mode and it will make a difference?
  3. have you changed your minimum line weight size ? in Preferences>Appearance is it 0 ? 10? i leave it on 0
  4. I guess we all need to swamp the Beta Reporting Site with a Report
  5. tried a few and it seems you are right , so make a Report and hopefully it will be fixed for the Final Release... M.

    HD vs SSD

Samsung's NVME SSDs (960) are about 4 times faster than their Standard Sata SSD (850/860) too if you have a .M2 port on the Motherboard ( or buy a PCIe Riser Card) ...but both are much faster than a HDD, you soon get "used to it" and it becomes "normal" and expected though. M.
  7. I recently saw a website or page with Airplanes and Spaceships , maybe in the User Galleries ? I can't seem to find it again now.... M.
  8. are the doorways touching in plan view? looks like it is still trying to place framing.... you could post the plan file so others can look.... also it's good to have your Forum Signature filled in please especially with the Software version, and of course a Name is nice too see mine below in Blue for how to do that..
  9. can you be more specific on exactly which symbold those aerre , and I can try it here...and make sure it not a Videocard issue for example
  10. I seem to remember an Icon Pack or Hack for X7 when upgrading from X6 to a higher Res. Monitor...... I guess changing the Cursor size in Windows doesn't help with the Chief Cursors ? I don't have X6 installed now to test this ....
  11. This happens on me occasionally , usually after an Update too, even with Hide Taskbar on, and I usually find CA is Filling most of the Screen (98%?) but is not Maximized (fullscreen) as Chopsaw pointed out. ie Click on the single square between the - and X to maximize the window.
  12. I would Try Printing to PDF at 1/8 Scale , ( current view is not to scale- so maybe no good for Subs) then email the PDF to your Subs if Good. Not sure why it would only happen on one floor but the only other thing I can think of is the is an option to Rotate Text with the Plan, so if something is screwy with the Rotate Plan check box in the Text Defaults somewhere perhaps it might effect this? M.
  13. So Edit Handle size doesn't help eg 8 pixels in this Case? it maybe related to the DPI or Windows Scaling if the new Computer has a Higher resolution Screen eg 4K older programs like X6 are not "DPI Aware" so things maybe tiny if that's the case . Please see my signature below and fill yours in too...see the Blue instructions...thx.
  14. Looks like the Web Push Notifications aren't working Properly , I don't let Chieftalk use them, so assume I don't see it for that reason... CT will of asked at some point if you want notifications , so probably in Settings you can disable it or Remove that Permission.... if not in Settings then likely in your Browser's Options or Settings...
  15. Are you Printing to Microsoft's Windows 10 PDF Printer? I don't think X5 had the Print to PDF like X9 or X10? I Use the free BullZip PDF Printer instead and have found it pretty Good...No Ads and no Adware like CutePDF and some others tag onto the Download sometimes. They also have a Free PDF reader , PDF Studio , which allows merging etc and a few other basic features. http://www.bullzip.com/products/pdf/info.php http://www.bullzip.com/products/stu/
  16. Me too , I Printed to PDF to save Paper and Ink though... not sure if that makes a difference? Ira PDF 2_Test.pdf
  17. I would email Chief Sales or Training and ask or post in the Sales Forum perhaps instead Since CA staff are in there more Often.... https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/forum/4-sales-related-questions/ https://www.chiefarchitect.com/company/contact.html
  18. Yep both look good to me In Adobe Reader 9.5 Use the Snipping Tool to show us what you see...See my Sig. in Green
  19. You can do this with an added Framing Layer in your Wall Definition fairly easily using the Framing Type Materials from the Attached Library, I thought I'd post this here too for Others in the Future to use if needed , so it's not lost in the thread.... X9 Version... may not work in X10...see below ***Post No#3*** I can not reproduce the issue so the Textures are in Post #3 if you need them. MHD RainScreen Battens.calibz What should be in the .calibz , they can be unzipped with any unzip program X10 Version MHD RainScreen Battens_x10.calibz What should be in the .calibz , they can be unzipped with any unzip program You must uncheck "Stagger Framing Layers" to get the Rainscreen Strapping to line up with the studs automatically if that is desired in the Wall's DBX Structure Tab ( at Bottom) And VERY importantly FRAME the wall or you won't see them in Plan View OR 3D Views as they are a Framing Type Material. I use the same technique for Board And Batten Siding. https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/16852-board-and-batten-library/ and an Older Post on the method Using a Wall Framing Layer for Cedar B&B https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/5383-is-there-a-way-to-trimextend-psolids-in-elevation-view/?do=findComment&comment=47072 Mick.
  20. Thanks Dan , that would make sense , do Notifications work in Windows 7 though ? that maybe the Issue here... I have that Option off in Win10 since the Site Tells when I am here anyway. M.
  21. Have you perhaps added a 2nd Schedule to another Floor by accident ? eg. The Attic level and "Lost it" , try the "All On" Layer Set ......perhaps it will show. Also it's good to have you Forum Signature Filled in like the Rest of Us , so we know which Software etc you are using etc, check mine in Blue below for a quick How To on the Sig. M.
  22. You shouldn't get a Prompt to download or Open anything by simply visiting a Site , you normally need to click a link or a file name 1st, but normally if exporting a Macro , you would name it something easy to remember eg Area Calcs , not something like either of those eg 2a7vh9do.json. It is a bit weird I'd likely report it to Tech Support just in case for peace of mind ,especially since it's happened more than once. You Image doesn't show the Whole Window , so there is no way for me to tell which page you were on when it popped up.
  23. Also check the Room Structure DBX and make sure it is not set to Monolithic Foundation , as it will override the default if so... Please also fill in your Forum signature , please see mine below in Blue on how to do yours , the Version No# is useful in particular as different version can require different Answers.
  24. Were you downloading or opening a Macro off the Forum? a .json is how Chief Exports Macros ( which are in Ruby as Joe Mentioned ), opening ChiefTalk in IE instead of FireFox does not trigger a Download for me though ...I am Win10 too . M.
