  1. Are we calling saved cameras something different here? I only see saved cross sections ie E2,3,4,5. there are no saved camera views looking in the Project Browser M.
  2. Your pic shows one dim snapped to the stucco and the other to the sheathing ..... I could not find that situation , and the plan was in a framing Annotation when I opened it with no Dims showing , making it hard to know what view you were using.... just saying " help us , help you " ...time is money for us all.... M.
  3. Your Auto Exterior Dimension Defaults are indeed over riding the Wall Definition settings as Eric mentioned.... turn on Auto Refresh before changing the setting..... some of you annotations set defaults , like 1/2 Scale are also set to Surfaces , so it looks like you will need to adjust some of the manual dimensions as they snapped to the stucco too. it would help when you zip a plan Alan if you saved the plan in the Annotation set you used in the pic and perhaps leave a Text arrow with RED text or something in the plan to help us find it again , especially on a house 70'x56' , it's like a needle in a haystack.....
  4. Part of the problem is that Chief has never enforced the use of the Library System's "Search Attributes" (Key Words) , they don't even use it themselves 1/2 the time , let alone get Manufacturers to do it , and who has time to do it for I think 40,000 items as they now claim ?, when I asked about this previously I was told I could add them myself if needed.... sure that's what my $500 a year gets me... a spit in the eye.... and 360° VR viewing if only I could afford a VR Headset of course. you also need to think and type in US English to find anything ..... not a problem for some of you I know
  5. up until recently O.Rift and the Vive were just too expensive for most ie $1200 locally + taxes , they have dropped considerably in the last 6 months with Microsoft's implementation of "Windows Mixed Reality" and the release of all the new Heads available now eg from HP ,Samsung, Acer,Dell and Lenovo.... https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/collections/vrandmixedrealityheadsets
  6. Hi Pete , looks good but I don't think you have a 2nd floor or Roof on you house? I think I see light bleed around the ceiling? also ......it would be a good idea to fill out your system specs in you Forum Signature as most of us do as the version used and the hardware sometimes make a difference to the answers you may need, see my sig. for how to fill out yours in Blue....
  7. Yes, always good to post the plan if you can.....( close it in Chief 1st , especially if zipping it to get below 25mb.) it would be a good idea to fill out your system specs in you Forum Signature as most of us do as the version used and the hardware sometimes make a difference to the answers , see my sig. for how to fill out yours in Blue....
  8. Mark maybe right I noticed the DPI at 5 millon too..... 72 is the default I usually use 110..... If you use a size of 1280 x720 it will render Faster too and still fill most computer monitors well. Your computer will run cooler too if you disable Ray Traced Sun Shadows in the camera views and use an Ambient Occlusion of 50% instead. I don't use Bloom either , just my preference. M.
  9. Yep , twice the size nice work .... are the Meter and "Appliances" from the library?
  10. Hi Doug , a discussion has started on Laptops in the Chatroom if you are considering an upgrade?
  11. Thanks for the followup Rob ....would you mind making the pic larger so we can view it better please...
  12. it's actually default behavior, ( +bug? ) as windows and doors cannot span two different walls ie a wall junction , and in this case the Window "sees" the attic wall as a Junction , even though lower , since the wall is already there , luckily Eric's fix works in this case by placing it 1st. Might actually be a good plan to show T.S. , so they can put it on their "fixit" list
  13. Sam: you would need to work with someone with the same version of HD Pro or perhaps the Same version of Chief so you can open their Files once done, you wouldn't be able to open a file from a newer Version. If a chief User helps, they also need to set the Plan to be Editable in Home Designer Products so you can edit Items you can edit in HD Pro (only) You could do aa Save As copy of your plan and then Delete all the Furniture , appliances etc and zip the plan ( make sure plan is closed in CA ) if the zipped version is Under 25mb you can post it here directly. PM me if you'd like.... Mick.
  14. you need to give way more details if you want some help -- eg 2002 or 2008 or 2012 or 2018 macbook? videocard type, etc and some pics of the issue Your hardware and version of CA being used can be added to you Forum Signature , see mine for how to do that.... Pics can be added here bu dragging them into the light grey area in the reply window. M.
  15. If you are new to CA I highly recommend the New Tutorial Guide and getting to know the CA Knowledge base (KB) which has many, many tutorials too eg. one on what Michael mentioned with the CAD Detail... https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-02208/showing-the-as-built-in-a-remodel-plan.html https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/database.html Tutorial Guide and Ref. Manual https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/documentation.html ***It is recommended to Fill in your Forum Signature too...see mine for how to do yours...
  16. Generally Laptop graphics are not upgradeable because the Chip is soldered to the Motherboard unlike a Desktop where it is a separate Card that goes in a slot , so you are stuck with what you have , I didn't realise your Computer was 7-10 years old as Brian alluded too....if so that is pretty good in this modern day and age... EVGA is a huge California Company , started in Graphics Cards I think around 2000, but now does many other Computer Accessories like Motherboards and Power Supplies too , and has I think 5 models of high end Laptops . I have several of their Graphics Cards and have had great Support when needed from them.
  17. did you reboot after upgrading the driver? thats the only thing I can thing of , not sure why it doesn't work , (assuming it is the Correct Driver) it has been many years since I used AMD , I am strictly Nvidia these days. You needed an excuse for a new Laptop anyway didn't you ? EVGA has a Sale at the moment.....1/2 price on some 17" models... https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=768-41-2633-T1
  18. CA have let me know that at this point in time the Zoom Option is the only way to increase the Font size of the Help File and they have Logged Font Resizing as a Request with the Documentation team, so thanks for the Input and Help anyway Guys , but it is what it is for now...... KB
  19. Auto won't work 100% of the time especially in that weird Corner created by the 45° Wall , looks like CA is Confused by something , so you will need to do some manual work. Try copy and paste in place of the existing plane and change the pitch to 12 and use it for the upper pitch , you will need to resize it and rejoin it to the other roofs. ( shortcut is 2 key ) The original plane you can pull back so it is just over the Soffit Areas as needed.... P.S. -You also have a number of reversed walls with blue siding showing inside , eg around the front door. - also if you set the Alcove size to 100" in the Build roof Dialog the roof will build straight over the Alcove at the back. ( assuming you want that) As you can see I didn't finish it, but ......
  20. I always turn AO to 45%-50 and Turn Bloom off now, which I think Softens Images too much ( but is supposed to make it "light" more realistically) , but both look "wrong" to me personally especially AO in the Corners) Speccy will tell you if you have 15.7.1 installed now.... on the Graphics Tab
  21. re-read last post please I edited it.... night....Tomorrow then.....
  22. Windows Snipping tool is easy , it's what I use here , save to desktop and drag pic into reply window's light grey area. It's in the Windows Accessories Folder , I have it pinned to my Taskbar.. I don't actually know AMD , I was just looking at the Tutorials at Acer for there Laptops.... Don't worry if you have it....I removed the link after thinking about it.... Run Speccy again and see if new Driver is installed
  23. Haven't heard or it but Google seems to think WinThrust is a PUA "potentially Unwanted Application (Adware in this case)" so no you don't want it... downloads for me Okay just tried it for you..... did you try again?
  24.
