  1. Well at least you seem to have found the Issue , you should both report it so they know.... make sure to Turn off Win10 Driver Updates then cos it may try to update it to whatever the Latest is if you don't in a round and round circle every week..... see the 2nd 1/2 of the 1st post in the Nvidia Driver Thread for that....
  2. you could post the plan with the camera saved, (is it X9 or X10 now?) and we can try it on a PC , to see if there is a difference , but I would suspect the Videocard Driver and the way it handles Line Work , as it seems like it should be the line where the Roof Return hits the gable wall? Do you have Hardware Edge Smoothing On? what about Hardware edge smoothing while Idle? M.
  3. I'm pretty sure with either the Chief Manufacturers Library by NanaWall or the Library in the Symbols Forum you need to place a Doorway 1st and size it as needed , then size the NanaWall to fit your Doorway and slide it in. M.
  4. The difference maybe in the Intel Video Card , Graham may have the 520 or even the 4000/5000 like my Surface? , your's has the newer 620, so perhaps Chief hasn't caught up yet? I know over the Years it has always taken them a few months to catch upto Intel's latest , that's been going on for years and years cos many Laptops have always used the iGPU..... M.
  5. it's always best to post the Plan whenever you post to the Forum if you have an Issue there are far too many variables and we can only guess otherwise. M.
  6. I did see the post about the missing Textures but I thought they solved that? Bad Libraries Files on the Server for the Full Release Yesterday apparently. Perhaps the RCSS are just too much for it ? , time to gifted it to someone and upgrade I guess..... which sucks cos it's kinda new isn't it?
  7. no idea what Software you are using? .......but are you sure Walls, Normal is on in all 3D Views if not you will see the Framing assuming it has be Built. Also, it's good to have your Forum Signature filled in please, especially with the Software Version, and of course a Name is nice too ..............see mine below in Blue for how to do that
  8. I haven't tried it on my Surface3 as I figured it was a waste of time and the only thing I have with an Intel Card but did you check that the Intel Drivers OpenGL support is upto snuff?
  9. They may need to reverse those Names I know the Housed (Western) Stringer is popular back East ... maybe Carpenters Out there just can't do the math , it's cheaper for the Framer to do Rough Stairs, the benefit is also that they are there for whole Construction , and nobody has to access upper floors via ladder etc.
  10. @Chief_Content there have also been other reports of textures missing after Importing in X10 , so I am not sure if the Library Import function may have wider issues too.
  11. made you look ... sorry typo #28 but here it is Brian Beck posted this in another Thread about how to handle Reflective Materials in X10 20.1 ( Full Release ) Creating a General Material with a low roughness and a higher specular value should give you a very reflective surface in 20.1. Altering the roughness and specular values should give you the control needed to get results similar if not the same as X9. Have you been able to test this out? If you are still getting undesirable results in this area please submit a plan to tech support so we can look into the issue further. Michael just posted a pic here too of his settings...
  12. Just like I build them too except I use Ply for Risers and Treads .....not a fan of OSB or it's smell , The space on the side depends on the final finish if I know it when building if not I leave the full 1/ 1/2" for drywall and base/kicks to slide in. We quite often have to provide Fire blocking at the stringer line too eg if the Closet underneath also houses the HWT. You are right it would be a good video for @Brian_Beck and @Dermot to see how things are done ITRW, nice work once again M. M.
  13. Yep, in some places like UK, Oz, Nz, all Baseboard is called Skirting or Skirting Boards , Casing is called Architrave , etc.
  14. In Chief if you "Show the Wall Stringer" , you are actually showing the Stair Baseboard ( Kicks or if old school also called a "Stringer" in some parts) which is always On the Drywall not buried. It is not the Cut Stringer (the notched 2x12 , also called a Carriage or even Horse in the US) below the Treads and Risers, this is never seen in a Closed Stair so Chief doesn't even built them , you see the Tread and Riser material whether it is hardwood or Carpet etc. Prebuilt Factory Made stairs are a different matter and Chief does not model these housed/or mortised Stinger type Stairs specifically but it gets close enough , perhaps it is these you use commonly? , I don't personally, I build all my own, for Closed Stair types , and also space them with a 2x off the framing giving them room for Drywall and the Baseboard to slip down the side. M.
  15. Thanks for the Follow-up Derek. Also, it's good to have your Forum Signature filled in please, especially with the Software Version, and of course a Name is nice too ..............see mine below in Blue for how to do that M.
  16. Looks good Greg , did you happen to try Brian Becks advice in Post# 28 1st before changing the Material ? I Wonder if it may give your Countertop a bit of "life" too M.
  17. I was just making some pics of the Settings actually as my "Fix" maybe a bit confusing for some.... just tried them in a Plan I recieved from another Forum User and all seems good so far.
  18. did you try the "fix" in post no# 43 and #46? works in the Beta....not sure about Full Release. edit *** Have you changed the Default exposure or Brightness for PBR ? I am finding .25 EXP and 20 Brightness is nice for Interiors tonight. M.
  19. I have only seen the White Out issue in PBR Views ...which are X10 Only .....and I think I found a fix, that works for me anyway which is linked above in #13 M.
  20. funny you say that cos my "fix" this morning for the Beta was the Opposite ....ie turn on Improved lighting Quality and set the Auto lights to 100 and reshoot the view. M.
  21. I'm not surprised either , X5 was not meant to be used with Pressure Sensitive Pens or Touch Screens , I have not tried either with my Surface3 , I have X7 on it and use the Logitech MX-2 Mouse ( Bluetooth or Wifi ) with it when needed. M.
  22. seems to be quite a difference in the Ceiling and Fridge Stainless , but not sure the web images are doing it justice or not? M.
  23. I don't think the Ixxxt was on your end in that case Looks like CAD Masks cleaned it up for you? M.
  24. I see you have 2x6 or 2x8 there already so I assume you mean automatically make the Sloped Ceiling fill in? no way that I am aware of but thinking about it now I wonder if you made that short piece of 2x8 floor Floor a Landing instead the Stairs would handle things differently? ....haven't tried it... but I don't think the Auto slope section will happen unless you trick it somehow. M.
