  1. Do it in 2 or 3 Sections , you don't want Winders selected in the top section which causes that weird pointy tread at the top.
  2. Hmmm I thought I had seen it in the last few days....guess I was in X9 though then. *** seems I was thinking about 3D Camera Bumps off Walls not Restrict Camera to Room.
  3. Mine too , but Benq has several newer Models out now including one with a built in KVM. The VA Panel models were Okay for me and not as pricey as the IPS models , which is good as I wanted to go Dual. M.
  4. Don't have access to x10 this morning but am pretty sure I saw it there in the 3D Views Defaults... M.
  5. hi Crystal , there are 2 Space Planning Chief Libraries though I am not sure Either will help you ? but you could make you own "Blocks" for that Purposes using PolySolids , Slabs etc too. https://3dlibrary.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?r=site/detail/766 https://3dlibrary.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?r=site/detail/677
  6. You Must BUILD the Foundation otherwise it is not there , the Monolithic Foundation will replace the "phantom" Slab as per my image above. And once you build it it is on Level 0 not Level 1 along with ALL foundations. Once you name it a Garage the Floor will drop and you'll get the Curb. If you set Automatic Foundations to On and the default is Monolithic Slab, one should be Built automatically every time you make any Room/House/garage.... ie join 3 or more walls. If you always use Mono Slabs you can even set it up that way in your Template Plan. ***Beaten to it by Glenn
  7. we have Sloping Flat Roof Trusses but I don't believe they are able to be Top Hung like Michael's Floor System above unless that changed in X10? , I have not played with it in X10. Not sure if they can be forced down into the Wall or not Michael may know.... M.
  8. 2700 passes ? ekkkk ! ....did you go on vacation while that run ? good illustration for the passes needed though, you can see the cleanup in the Fridge between 50 and 100 but little else in the Scene except the Floor ..... nice work as usual though.....
  9. A slightly different look for you , I thought it looked better at 6/12 , and the Porch Roof I think maybe an Issue with two opposite slopes coming together so here we have Nested Gables instead. Wasn't sure if you wanted Stucco since you had siding or that was Joanne's Idea? Your Monolithic Foundation is messing up the Terrain as the Site Slopes to the rear by 3-4 ft ? so you need to build it as a standard foundation and then everything smooths out nicely and my Porch floor popped out of the ground at the Front door. 10. If you used my "quickie Method" above and the Roof Plane they would follow the Sloped Ceiling Plane wouldn't they? ie no need to Rotate M.
  11. Try Trimble 3D Warehouse https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/ https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model/ed1aee9100f58e26b9b072e1f62798f5/LAZZONI-MANHATTAN to import , download the .skp that is compatible with the version of CA you are Using ( which is????) or Perhaps the Chief Wayfair Catalog? Also, it's good to have your Forum Signature filled in please, especially with the Software Version, and of course a Name is nice too ..............see mine below in Blue for how to do that.
  12. I should of been clearer , this is what I was "alluding" to above , as I usually have Photo Mapping on (Caustics Off) , I have my Default RT set at 10 passes so I get a reasonable Image and if I think I need too try it again at 30 passes and then 50 , but have found the difference between 30 and 50 can be pretty subtle depending on the View. After looking at Formz's Vray page the Other day I am wishing CA hadn't discarded export to VRay, might be to tough to achieve their Results of course , I'm thinking it isn't exactly push button , Done , either http://www.formz.com/products/vray_formz.html M.
  13. Did you check the Layer the MonoSlab in the Garage is On is Displayed in Plan View? it will display on level 0 though as it is considered a Foundation...(see above too) , I assume you built the Foundation of course....
  14. Are you trying to Draw a Stringer ? I assume so..... easiest way is to Draw a Chief Staircase , Open the DBX and set everything the sizes you need eg the 7 3/8 Riser Height , then take a Cross Section through the Staircase , and using the CAD Line Tool copy over the Outline of the Stringer in the Elevation View , once the CAD lines join up, you can Convert the Polyline to a Polyline Solid and apply the thickness (1-1/2"?) and the desired Material ( eg Treated 2x ) and then Convert it to a Solid , and move it , copy it etc , to where-ever you need. I'll attach my practice plan...done in X10 M. Stair Stringer Plan.plan
  15. If you want a better picture there is no substitute in Ray Trace for the Number of Passes made , more is always better, ie 20-50 is going to look better than 10-15 passes particularly at 4k resolution , I am not sure how many passes would be needed before you hit the Law of diminishing Returns though , Graham may have more info on that? M.
  16. Graham is right , (thanks for the Tip G.), if you set your camera view Window to 1720 x720 , (resize Chief or use the Project browser to make the View Window smaller) , you will have the same view as the Ray Trace at 3440 x 1440 .
  17. I thought if you bought the Full Version that the Trial that was already installed just became a Full version by Entering the Digital Key and Activating it ,( ie. no need to re-install AFAIK ) but in this case they purchased Premier instead of the Trialed Interiors Version which maybe an issue? M.
  18. Oh ... I didn't pick up in that at all ........ Pyramid shaped Hexagon Tile .... true 3D effect Tile..... M.
  19. Apparently I don't , why would a Tile need to be a Pyramid ? I was thinking along the same lines as you at 1st.... M.
  20. Good for All Interior Users to know cos I think I saw two posts this week alone (like this one) complaining they couldn't find the Wall Regions Tool , wonder why it's not on the Wall Toolbar like for Premier Users if it is the same tool with a different Icon?..... that's a sure way to P.O. Interiors Users ... Hopefully they will find this Post ...if they Search ... CA X9 INTERIORS WALL MATERIALS REGION TOOL = use the Floor Regions Tool please
  21. CA really needs to fix the Compare Matrix it seems..... are you saying the Floor Tool works on Walls too ? never tried it , never had too since I have Premier and use the appropriate Tool.... M.
  22. Nice Solution E. if you want the decorative beam look rather than Drywall like P. mentioned.... M.
  23. Not the VideoCard itself, you have a good one but the particular Driver may cause Issues ( ie the 388.xx Series) especially on Laptops as they usually use the Laptop version of the Driver, which is different than the Desktop Version Perry and I use. If you can't access the Label Tab in some DBX's that is another symptom of the Issue. Windows Update will normally ensure you havethe latest Drivers in Win10.... (390.77 is the latest) but that's not always a good thing as other have found out. The 390.xx series Drivers seem much better however.... I just went back to 382.05 Last night but haven't test PBR this morning etc yet. PS nice Sig. M. M.
  24. I have the same issue sometimes and cropping in a Photo Editor is the easiest solution , though it may not be 4k ... but most don't use 4k for viewing Images anyway eg if sending to Clients, if you want full screen 4k for your Office or something that is different. M.
  25. I see Black in PBR but not RT in X10 but the the latest driver is not best for everyone and we don't have any of pgjacob's details ...yet...it's good to have your Forum Signature filled in please, especially with the Software Version, and of course a Name is nice too ..............see mine below in Blue for how to do that. https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/16205-nvidia-driver-3880-and-up-possible-fix/ a very good X9 raytrace thread.....x10Beta has lost the ability to use reflective materials btw due to the new PBR View. https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/14512-lets-ray-trace/
