  1. @redraw1 I have seen a Deck Handrail break a wall Connection on a corner before, and it not be obvious, usually you can find these one by clicking and selecting th exterior Room and you'll see where it "flows inside" the house but we are only guessing without the plan file to look at for you , but perhaps you have figured it out now? Also, it's good to have your Forum Signature filled in please, especially with the Software Version, and of course a Name is nice too ..............see mine below in Blue for how to do that.
  2. We're all waiting for you to Post your Plumbing Components Library in the Symbols Forum You would think we'd have one by now, being that many Jurisdictions require these drawings for Permits nowadays.... My Bad.... I forgot Eye-Candy before ConDocs rules the day.
  3. It's not that hard , there are Bolts in the Library for example you can multiple Copy , they are alread Auto Added tot he ML but at Code quantities , though you can change that in the Walls Component DBX I believe , here is a Post for another User with more info....
  4. Nope , not just you, more like Everyone I almost didn't the last two years but looking at the Cost to upgrade every 2-3 years is the same as paying for SSA so..... I've been waiting for 5 years at least for a Material List overall and in that time all we have gotten are macros to use in the ML, which still isn't dynamic for some reason like Schedules are. Oh and the ability to click on an item in the ML and find it in the Plan. Which with the Obtuse and incorrect Names the ML uses for Items will be handy to find out what the H*** it is referring to ie Fascia is not a Rafter... ) Well it didn't say in your plan that it wasn't complete or Correct , ie the Roof Structure / Insul. so I only designed what I could.... but that's doable too by lowering the landing and or starting it further over etc , I don't know what the constraints are but am willing to work on a Paid Assignment for you 1.) Stringer thickness or depth? AFAIK you can't change either they are hard-coded , just like the single middle stringer is hardcoded so if you want extras you need to draw your own currently but you can copy the existing Stringer in elevation and make it deeper eg 2x12 instead of 2x10 or thicker eg 3"x10 or 3x12 and place them on top of the Auto-Built ones. 2.) Also No ...it is hard-coded into the Auto-Stair Builder but as you can see in the Link above, doing your own you can make individual materials for each piece if desired. Should that be needed, also a No, but it is unfortunately what we have today, Stairs haven't changed much in the last 8-10 years I've been using CA it seems. M.
  5. David, you know full well there is an issue with the 388.xx series Drivers with these exact symptoms....it has been posted here many times , so I am sure you are aware of it , why not just link them to my thread about it.......... Please check this thread @BroderickDesign for a fix if your Nvidia Card is using a 388 Series Driver.... 382.05 and 390.77 work fine for me. Also, it's good to have your Forum Signature filled in please, especially with the Software Version, and of course a Name is nice too ..............see mine below in Blue for how to do that.
  6. Actually it will Work it seems Lew , all you need to do in the Default Dims DBX is change the Fraction Dimension from 1/4" to 1/1" and those Dims using the Defaults will change , even the already placed ones. I assumed above with the use of Annotation Sets you wanted to have two sets of Dims you could switch back and forwards from which would be alot more work to setup. A Save As Plan with different Dimension Defaults would work too obviously but may get confusing especially if Changes were made.
  7. Just a FYI Post.......I just ran a Library Catalog Update and two of the Core Libraries got updated as well as several others , I guess they are getting ready for the Full release of X10 Tomorrow... M.
  8. Hi Hi David , as far as I am aware Winders do not meet Code in many jurisdictions now , and even if they do they generally need to be minimum 6" deep 12" off the wall (walking line) or in some areas a minimum of 3" deep at the Wall, (cannot come to a point) however I am not aware of Calgary's Codes. If it is an existing stair then it is likely grandfathered in and wouldn't need changing unless the house if under a Full Gut and Remodel , then they may insist on it meeting new Codes. Looking at your Test Plan , you don't need Winders I believe , there appears to be enough Head Room and there seems to be room in the Attic , so you can give even more clearance over the bottom 2 treads for a feeling or more space. Adding a Skylight over the Landing would help too I think, But depending on the Client it may need to go higher in the Stairwell. These kinds of stairs take far too much time to do, for what they are , but unfortunately CA still has not done much to the way Auto Stairs build these kind of Stairs, which are in nearly every home these days due to Space and/or height constraints. Yes, I flipped the front door Sidelight that may not be possible, but it doesn't change the Stairs..... I also think the Open Stringer is a nicer look for the bottom half, but the Client could save some money by using a Drywalled Curb Wall instead , in which case why use Spindles at all if the Budget is that tight? , just take it upto 36" and save all the money. M.
  9. Their are some known issues with the Nvidia 388.xxx Series of Drivers , with missing Cursors and the inability to open the Label tab in DBX's as two of the symptoms, perhaps worth looking into... Also, it's good to have your Forum Signature filled in please, especially with the Software Version, and of course a Name is nice too ..............see mine below in Blue for how to do that.
  10. I don't think it is quite that Simple, the Annotation Set would also need to change the LayerSet and the Two types of Dimensions would need to be on different Layers too as existing Dimensions are not changed simply by changing Anno Sets , that Change would only effect NEW Dims drawn from that point on. The Trick will be getting the different Dims onto Different Layers, especially Auto Dimensions like Exterior Dims in your Test Plan
  11. Yes I'm getting it and the exact opposite ie "Blackouts" , sometimes switching Views as Mark said will fix it other times I close camera and and shoot it again from a a spot 12-18inches left or right of the "Bad" Spot and it's Okay, but I have not figured it out yet, after trying latest video Drivers and and the 382.05 ones , I still have Issues. A few Test examples from the Grandview Plan.
  12. Someone was having a similar issue last week , Clearing the Printer Info and setting things up again fixed it for him....maybe worth a Try ?
  13. It sounds like you are Wanting the Exterior Auto Dims to locate the Interior ...not what they were really designed for but you can move the Locating points as needed. !st set the Auto Dims Defaults to Surfaces and both sides of Interior walls , you will need to relocate the locion pont each end as it will automatically find the Surace of the Exterior Finish. So click on the Dimension line and you should see a Red Edit handle (diamond) appear over the projection line where it hits the Exterior Wall , so drag that Red point to the Drywall Surface on the Opposite Wall (see pics.) You may get a message about making the Dims Manual not Automatic anymore if you do this though...and th will no longer Auto Refresh I believe , so do this at the End if needed and you still have Changes to make. Chief has 15-20 Videos on Dimension too assuming you have SSA https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/playlists/92/12-dimensions.html Also, it's good to have your Forum Signature filled in please, especially with the Software Version, and of course a Name is nice too ..............see mine below in Blue for how to do that. 14. You could try increasing the Maximum Bump distance in Edit>Snap Props>Options and see if it helps, I use 150 pixels now after find 100 was not working all the time like you are finding , it seems to work opposite from how you would expect , I think it was a Tip I saw in one of @WendyatArtform Videos actually. ( Thanks Wendy !) M.
  15. IIRC @KirkClemons started a thread on this , with a Tutorial he made , linked on his Blog , I am not sure if he got around to Finishing it or not ? I'll try and see If I saved the link but hopefully he will see this post and pop in here.... Maybe in the Symbols Forum? M.
  16. Chief always places the House in the Middle of the Terrain Perimeter at 1st , Edit Area All Floors should work okay to get in to the General Location with a Point to Point Move and then rotate as needed. ( you can pre-place a CAD Point at the House Location if you know it to help.) One thing to note is the Terrain won't usually fix itself after the move , in relation to the house ie Level 1 Subfloor 18" AGL , and a Rebuild may not work either, so Force the Height rebuild by opening the Terrain's DBX and turning Automatic back on , (usually off I find) which will reset the Terrain height to the default distance (18" AGL) and let it rebuild , you can then open it again and uncheck automatic if needed and raise or lower the Terrain as needed to suit a sloping terrain etc. Mick.
  17. .Plan File? I draw the stairs as 2 or 3 separate sections and then adjust their top and bottom heights, so the "appear" to Join, it may take 3 sections for that Staircase, I usually draw a straight one off on the side so I know what CA thinks is the "best Fit" for Riser height etc. Was it one of your other recent Posts I mentioned this in too recently? I thought I posted a "fixed" plan for someone showing this technique ?? , it does take a bit of messing around but it's the best way we have with these common Stair types I find. Is it an existing Stair ? cos it doesn't appear to meet current Code - as a far as the winders go... M.
  18. With your Info it works for me BUT the Full Camera Perspective OverView is WAY Off Base so I guess you did whatever I did ...blank white screen as described , so I Opened the Overview Camera DBX and noted it was almost (minus) -16400" below the Floor (0'") .................( or 1366' below the Floor ) So I took a Full Camera View and there the Terrain was in all it's Glory..... 3312" ABOVE the Floor , so I copied the Full Camera DBX info, into the Overview Camera DBX and all was well.... Thanks for the Practice , knowing the Terrain Perimeter and Elevation Data Layers made it pretty easy , was the DWG in Feet or Decimal Feet though? Here is my attempt in X10 Beta anyway : DWG Terrain Import Plan.plan Also, it's good to have your Forum Signature filled in, especially with the Software Version, and of course a Name is nice too for future posts ..............see mine below in Blue for how to do that M.
  19. Ok , he send he was sending perspectives , which I thought meant perspective views , so has me confused....... as I am not aware of anyone who gives Client's his Full Plan File. M.
  20. Unfortunately I think you are right , it is a real pity that the Room Schedule does not do Material Quantities like the Framing Schedule , it would be way more Useful.
  21. Are you talking about the .plan File size or the size of Images taken and exported out of Chief , because I have never seen those large in size...perhaps you need to explain more ? Also, it's good to have your Forum Signature filled in please, especially with the Software Version, and of course a Name is nice too ..............see mine below in Blue for how to do that.
  22. Duplicating maybe the Issue as i think it will try to use the Main Monitor's resolution in that case , where as if you only use Monitor 2 it should use the Tv's Native Res. , been a while since I tried any of that stuff though... Most LCD are best veiwed at their Native Resolution though as they are optimised for it.
  23. One of my 39" Samsung's had a PC Mode , it may help if you have it? but are you perhaps not using the TV's Native Resolution? ie 1920 x 1080 or ? I am assuming you mean the line work is all fuzzy? M.
  24. In X10 you could try the new PBR Camera too , similar and faster than RT , but has some downside too currently. RT in X10 does not have great reflective qualities eg on Glass and PBR has similar issues with Glass currently too.... PBR views for me vary greatly and sometimes it only takes a step sideways of 12"-18" one way or the other to "Correct" it. But they are much faster so easy to try out.
  25. Were they 2D trees or the 3D ones? perhaps try the "opposite" type or one of Chief Backgrounds instead of Google Pic.... https://3dlibrary.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?r=site/detail/1056 Trees and Shrubs https://3dlibrary.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?r=site/detail/795 https://3dlibrary.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?r=site/detail/872 https://3dlibrary.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?r=site/detail/870 https://3dlibrary.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?r=site/detail/871 https://3dlibrary.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?r=site/detail/765
